They are starting already. The fire works are getting an early start. It is 8:00Pm and I hear the fire crackers popping already. I haven't seen the usual amount of fireworks stands this year. There is usually one on almost every corner. I hope that they don't start any fires. It is so dry this year and there are enough fires in California so we don't need any here too. Are the fire works starting in your area to?

The guy next door bought $600 worth of fireworks, he has been doing them for days. Thats ok with me, the kids like it, he is having fun. This year he gets to put on the show for the neighborhood, I am happy for him. We have had so much rain that we don't have much to worry about, also I have a metal roof.

I wish you a nice 4th too. I can't see spending that knid of money neither. Last week he won $5000 on a scratch off lotery ticket. He is single, never has any extra money. He has always came outside to watch others set off fireworks, this year he gets to be the "man", I am happy for him. Even if I did win money, I still wouldn't buy fireworks, I have bills that need paid.

I could never see spending so much on something that is just going up in smoke. Nice for the kids though, I always took min to the shows to see them then a few sparklers for them to light. Glad you have had the moisture there. Have a nice safe 4th.

Well I guess some guys never grow up. I hope he has fun and is safety conscious. You and your grandkids enjoy his fire works. By the way how is that baby doing now? The one that was in the hospital a while back?

Hello dear deeboomb. Yes, we have fireworks here in the town where I live in Zhejiang, China. To be honest, I don't like fireworks at all because it is not safe and it is noisy when it is burned. I don't know why the people in this small town that I live in love to burn fireworks so much, which is not what I like. I think that it is better for fireworks to be forbidden for safety. Thank you.

There are so many accidents with people being careless with them that i think that they should be banned all over.

They have been sending up fireworks in my neighborhood for about two weeks now. My son has even done a few. But the big fireworks shows will be tonight. We will go to a sponsored one instead of putting on our own show this year. Happy 4th!

I would rather go to a sponsored display because they are just better. I never like having them shot off around the house because of the fire hazard

It's surprising the number of people around where I live that are buying the display types of fireworks and shooting them off themselves. I'm surprised we don't hear of more accidents than we do.

Backyard fireworks started about 8 pm last night. I went to bed with a headache around 10:30, 'cause I had not heard any for a while. And I was awakened at 1:40 am with more fireworks. I think it was my next door neighbor. I plan on finding out today. It's illegal to have them at all, but no one reports anyone. But 1:40 am? That's a bit much. I couldn't get back to sleep again until after 4 am.

I keep a fan on at night to shut out the noise. It's like a white noise. It is really inconsiderate of any one shooting them off after midnight at least. I never can go back to sleep ofter I have woke up.

You won't hear fireworks around here until dark on Friday night. Then, it will go on for hours! It has been awful dry and fires could happen. I do worry when the grandkids get out and shoot them every year. But we won't be shooting them this 4th since nobody will be here but me and my husband.

The fire works can be very scary especially with young kids. My grandkids are not going to be home this evening ether. They will be going to watch a display in other places.

Mine are all teenagers, but the 14 year old sees NO danger in anything and when they throw those that you hold in your hand, they have caught our grass on fire. But it's usually short and easily put out. But this year, it's been dry, and things might get a little heated with so many people shooting the fireworks tonight.

Not yet lol, but I'm more than sure that as soon as it gets dark my neighbors will start in with them. I know too that the next set of neighbors, about a quarter mile away, will have those big 'boomer' ones (you know, the ones that rattle your chest as well as your dishes in the cabinet?!) I would be more surprised if I didn't hear any from them. They're illegal here, so it always amazes me that they get away with doing that each and every holiday...and twice as much on the 4th! Oh well, as long as they're safe about it I just keep my mouth shut and pray none of them misfire and start the fields, barns etc on fire.

I don't mind them really. I just hope people will watch the kids and be cautious with them. Everything is just so dry here. When I was a silly teenager we would go across the state line to get the illegal ones. We live real close to the state line and we would get those cherry bombs. I like to see the fire works just don't care for the loud noisy ones. Have a nice 4th.

I don't really mind them too much either, the only thing is it drives my dog absolutely insane (esp. those deep boom ones!) I don't mind it so much but when they keep doin it at one or two am, it's really hard to sleep lol. I love the sound of a baying dog, but only when they're deep in the woods and have a raccoon cornered hehehe. We live within 30 miles of a stateline, and they are legal to buy or sell there, so I'm sure that's where they're getting them. On the positive side, if I go into my one barn and look out the top window, I get to see really far off and can see 3 different communities fireworks. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day, with lots of friends, family, and smiles :-)
