What a way to celebrate the 4th of July..

Very tired, very pissed, very bummed out, or all of the above. We went camping for the 4th yesterday only to have some guy, who we didn't know had set up camp already where we went being it was dark when we got there, asked us this morning if we could move. We were going to but no other good spots left so we went to the gate and told the guy about what happened. He said the same thing I told hubby...Should of gone up to the gate and mentioned to him about it. He's going to file a complaint on our behalf being we were far enough away from him. Besides, when we were heading out, we saw him with a group of campers in the RV part of the club. Since the guy only had a tent where we were at but nothing else, we pretty much assumed he just wanted that area to himself to party with his buddies since it's a very out of the way spot. Told hubby if this ever happens again even when I'm not there, to talk to the guy/gal at the gate first before packing up. I hope that guy gets banned from the club. There were beer bottles all over the place that I picked up and threw away. Totally bummed out about this because we had no plans of leaving till tomorrow night.

Quite alright if your response is late. i knew not everyone would respond or respond late being it was the weekend. I hope he gets banned, no warning. He knew the club was going to be packed for the 4th of July so he had no business holding that spot just to party at. There were over 1,000 campers over the weekend and all the good spots were taken. We don't like camping right on top of other people like RV campers do. We like to be away from everyone else which is why we love this spot so much. Labor Day is our next venture and will make sure we get there earlier so if we can't get that spot, can find another before they are all snatched up.

Do you always camp at the same place? I don't blame you for being upset. It's ashame you had to shorten your camping trip just because of one person who wanted to get wild and crazy.

Yes we do. Even the girl at the gate when we were registering our tent for the spot said noone was there so I'm betting he was supposed to be at another site and just set his tent up there instead. I know others like to camp there and we will move on IF we see an active campsite..meaning tent is up, coolers near tent..looks like someone is actually there and not just gone for a few days. We had no clue that tent was there until the lantern happened to shine off it AFTER we were already set up. Nothing around the tent or anything indicating someone was already there. He's gonna get his if he didn't already.

Goodness! I was wondering why you were back so soon...what a bummer. Unfortunately there's always some yahoo that wants to make trouble, and yes, hope he does get banned as I'm guessing there are rules and regulations and codes of conduct and behavior at such a place right? Sorry to hear that your plans were screwed up. Did you confront this guy at all and tell him he didn't belong there?
