Ever since we got a baby, our life had changed its direction. I mean, before we - me and my better half, used to think about the big voids in life and vagueness of life. Once we knew that one new comer to world will join with us soon, life had changed its course filled with expectations, preparation, planning and so on. Expectations excite our life. right sir? You may have something to tell. Please share with me.

I have goals and dreams, and they have absolutely nothing to do with having kids, nor do I think you have to have kids to gain perspective and direction in life. I disagree with having expectations, though. Life happens and not everything turns out the way you want it to. It's better to work towards a desired goal, then to expect everything to happen exactly the way you want it to.

You have just started facing life. Wait, life will make you more experienced, probably then you will have something different to say.

Having a baby will definitely change your lives, aryajayaprakash. It will be very tiring at times, but very exciting and wonderful, too. You might find you stay at home more, and have different plans for the future. The most important thing is being a family and enjoying your lovely new baby!

Kids can indeed change your outlook on life and what you expect from it. Lofty expectations you might have had before can take a backseat to what you want for your child. Of course expectations and your life's directions will change over time no matter whether you have children or not. As you age you realize more about your own limitations and/or seek out other goals. It's just how you make your way through the passages of life.
