Wax Hitler Looses Head

The wax incarnation of Adolf Hitler lost his head in Berlin in the brand new Madame Tussauds museum. A German National was so furious at the sight of the mustached wax dummy that he knocked aside two guards and attacked the showpiece. He was heard to yell "Never again war!" * Henryk M. Broder, a reporter and commentator for SPIEGEL, quipped wryly: "Finally an attack on Hitler was successful." * http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/0,1518,564100,00.html

I can't think of a much better figure to behead. Why would anyone want a life size statue of that monster is way beyond me. I don't even want to see images of him in books but I know that for the sake of history we have to learn about his horrible deeds somewhere.

Very true, but what is so scary that even with knowing this piece of history there are still people who are gullible enough to be pulled around to this type of hateful ignorance every single day.

Scapegoating is a very easy trap to fall into when your life is taking a downward swing. * The wax museum did not pick and choose it's figures for sentiment as it chose to show German history, the good, bad, and disgusting.

Why anyone would want a wax Hitler in their museum in the first place is beyond me. I hope the guy doesn't really get charged with assault. Obviously this upset him and I'm thinking if his reaction was so strong, he must be under some kind of serious mental stress. I'm assuming the guards weren't actually hurt from reading the article. It just seems so weird for them to put the wax Hitler up in the first place.

For worse Hitler is or was a historical figure of the country. And Headless isn't the only wax figure of Hitler in Germany, just first to loose his head. * I don't know much about the case, the status of the be-header, or the two guards shoved aside for the deed. I too hope his mental state will be taken into account.
