I use my digital camera video function all the time. This way I can save them to DVD's and be able to cherish them forever.

Action! - Film director's Action Board.
I love putting my home videos to DVD. I have so much footage right now that I haven't had a chance to get it all put together. My last task was to record my father on his "70th" birthday. All of the family asked him questions about his life and then he told memoriable events that he wanted all of us to remember. I've got halfway done and just need to finalize the rest. It's time consuming, but way worth it! Do you have a PC or Mac to create your dvd's?

I had used a PC to do all this originally, until I wandered into the Mac Store with my husband and sat down to wait for him. To my amazement they were having a class about iMovie and iDVD, basically creating everything I was doing. I couldn't believe how simplified the rendering process was compared to everything I had to go through on the PC. My husband convinced me to switch to a Mac and there's no going back now. Its so much easier and with awesome premade templates you can customize too.

I would recommend getting a digital camera. Let's say as you get older your memories start to fade, if you have pics or videos to look at, it may help to bring those fading memories back to life. Thanks for sharing ;-]

Some of our favorite memories are captured on film We have one film of my dad dancing with our baby daughter. He's been gone for 20 years now, and she's 27 years old.

Why not get a DV recorder, at that way, you can record a longer video on digital format, and you can also publish it on youtube to share with all of us. I tried to use my digital camera to record those home video too, but it only last a couple of minutes. It wasn't that fun at all though. I would recommend to spend a little bit more money on a digital recorder device.

I don't really like to take videos. I just don't really like to watch videos of people I personally know -- kind of weird I guess. I'd rather have photographs of loved ones. The only videos I like to take are those of my 2 cats.

I love it,infact i do this almost all the time.i have a canon digital camera which i use for taking videos.infact i take my camera everyday to my college and shoot the lightest moments in our class.since i am in my last year now next year i will surely miss my friends and college,so i take the everyday events in my camera and store.i am sure i am going to love it like anything in the future.also during functions at my home i do take the video and store it.photography and videography are my passions and so in no way can i ever miss them.

I always use my digital camera too if I need to make a quick video of something! My last one was a few weeks ago when my daughter took her first few steps! PurpleTeddyBear.

no. i really am not into it. i don't have a video camera. i will like to try that too sometimes hope that i will be able to create a great vidoe.i would like to catch a singing group. i will make a singing group myself. i will be happy to show to others the video that i will make. i am though a frustrated director i guess. sometimes it's great that we will be able to have some memories of our lives so that in the future we will be able to recall our great times in the past. it's really great if we are having some family reunions that we will be able to catch our selves live on the camera. it will be really wicked to do that and to put those vidoes on the youtube too. and i know that there are lots of people who are doing it now so that they will broadcast themselves in the youtube.

Yes i do. I use our video camera alot. I love it!! We just have to get a cord so we can connect the vid. camera up to the computer so we can save them onto a DVD, and print pics from it.

I have never tried making any home movies but it sounds like it would be fun to do. I would need a camera first to do that. :-)

I make home videos sometimes. I usually use the vidoe camera that my dad got me. That's only because I just got my digital camera.
