I wonder of changing my operation system from window to linux. Do u have any suggestion for me ? and if use linux, with version should be use for a newbie like me?

All my computers install Windows. I know Linux is safer. However, I don't know how to use it. So I won't consider to use Linux. There are many things support Windows, so I am not going to use another operating system. I love China

me to0, im using xp today, but in our school, we use linux, i also have been seeing people who hates windows, and otherwise. but i do prefer any of the two, because windows is much easier to use, and when you use linux, you are slightly edgy.

Although i know that linux as much much much better for graphic designers, web developers and generally for those who use computer for something very special creativity, i insist to Windows which are more friendly and more enough lighter environment. (saying "lighter" i mean that it is easy to use it even by small kids and that it is now complicated the way it is structured). On the other hand, i might insist to windows only because i am used to them... and do not want to put myself in the experience of trying something new after so many years i am using windows...! If you decide to change to linux, think that it is a big change and you will have to learn too many things in order to get into it..! Whatever you choose, good luck!!! :)

linux is better in security and speed. that is true, but only if you have a lot computer knowledge or you need do some job at linux flatform or you have much sparing time, you'd beeter just use the windows.

I'd suggest to giv a try with Linux although its is not as user friendly as Windows but ones u r familiar with linux, u will find it interesting. Wht u can do is install the Linux OS on a different partition so that u dont lose ur copy of windows & u can always switch back to Windows if u dont like Linux

I am the same with you before. I was already familiar with Windows 98 then ME and 2000. Then familiar with XP. When peoples says Linux is free and has the higher speed and security, I have tried to install another Linux OS in my destop PC. which means I have two OS in my PC and only one to be use at a time. When using Linux, it is hard to get familiar with. and hard to locate where the files that I have been saved. So I didn't continue with Linux because I have more things to do.

I heard that also that linux is better as far as security is concern. But for me, I think viruses author is really focusing on the windows since majority of PC uses windows instead of linux right now. But if it was happen in the future that majority of us switch to linux, then it is the same issue I guess. The best thing we need to do is to be very careful all the time and monitor unwanted task of our PC.

I would suggest sticking with windows or upgrade to windows vista. Windows is the best operating system available, personally i think linux os is rubbish and much prefer windows for everything like visual effects, security etc etc. Stick to windows m8 you will be better off
