Do you have a favorite cat?

Do you have more than one cat? Which cat is your favorite? Last night, as my female cat, EB, curled up next to me I pondered this question. For a few moments, I was sure that she was my favorite cat. She is always there for me, sitting in my lap and trying to be close. She was the one who stayed with me during my entire pregnancy. She even got fat like me as if she were the one having the baby! The other cats are elusive and don't like to be petted. But I love them, just the same. I'm grateful to my male cat, Big Man for being my first baby and being there for me in the years before my daughter arrived. Sometimes he's my favorite, especially when he lets me hold him. And I love the kitten cause she makes my daughter happy. And she likes me! She tries to sleep on my bed, but EB will have none of that! Cats don't like sharing their mommy, apparently! Really, it's hard to choose. Guess it just depends on my mood as to which cat is my favorite. Do you have a particular cat favorite, now?

I have three cats, and I do my best not to play favorites because they are all unique. Frisky is kind, Dubby is a bad boy, and Goldie is girly. Each cat has their own special trait. I think that all three of them are my favorites.

Yeah he was so sweet and very friendly. Of course some people were scared of him because he weighed like 25 pounds or more and he looked like the cat off of Pet Sematary. I had to tell and show every one that he was a sweet cat.

Awww! We have a big male cat in our front yard that looks huge and grizzly! But he is so gentle with the kittens. We named him Papa Bear. My daughter calls him by name when she sees him. It's so sweet.

i try not to pick favorites,i love them all equally. the one is by far the family favorite however (the tuxedo) and he gets specials all the time, but the black cat is the one who follows me all day and cries if i go out...the calico could care less,as long as the bowl is full

Big Man, the big male cat, gets cream or milk whenever he wants it. He's the only cat that I know who can stand milk and not get sick. But it's his special treat. And he demands it. I never turn him down!

Really? Mine adores sour cream, too. I think it was cause he was an outdoor cat briefly when he was a kitten. Somehow his system ended up different. He's not lactose intolerant at all! But our kitten is!

Here's Kissy - image of my cat Kissy
I only have two kitties now...Pyewacket and Kissy and love them equally, but my is Pyewacket the jealous one...LOL. If I talk to Kissy, no matter where Pyewacket is and could be sound asleep, he has to all of a sudden come charging up to me and pushes Kissy out of the way....he definitely likes his attention...LOL Have a picture of Kissy here--that black cat that is in the Cats interest...that's my Pyewacket by the way..LOL

You made me smile! I'm still smiling and typing. That is so sweet. My EB is the same way. She loves her Mommy, that's me. And she refuses to share me with the kitty, Little Buddy. But Little Buddy emulates everything EB does. And she tries to sleep next to me, just like EB! But EB will have none of that and bulldozes her off the bed. The pair are too cute. Big Man is the oldest and male and at heart, he's still a shy little boy. He's a sweetheart! I don't know how I could live without my cats.

LOL...do you sleep like a pretzel to accommodate your kitties--I know I do...Hehe. Pyewacket "allows" Kissy on my bed but only if she stays at the foot of it, while he snuggles next to me..so I don't dare move my feet as I don't want to accidentally kick Kissy and can't move with Pyewacket next to me--what we don't do for our "children" right?

Good morning, dear beauty queen. Ok, now I know that you have your favorite cat, but it seems that they are all your favorite, hehe. Now I have quoted one of your sentences as follows, Quotation: "She was the one who stayed with me during my entire pregnancy." A little bird told me that when a lady is pregnant, it is better for her to be away from those pet dogs, cats and so. But it seems that it is ok on your side. Yes? I guess so. Have a good morning to begin with, beauty queen.

Yes, it's so true! I have heard the rumors about cats and pregnancy too. Many pregnant women don't understand the dangers associated with scooping cat litter and continue to do so while pregnant or end up handling cat litter. It's not safe, at all. A pregnant woman must never scoop used cat litter as there is a danger that it could harm her unborn baby. My loving spouse handled all the cat litter duties while I was pregnant. And he still does. He is worried that I would pick up a virus from the cat litter and then go into the kitchen and cook. I would not want to do that! We are very cautious of such things as not to mix the cats with humans. Thank you for your concern! Please be well, my friend. And have a lovely evening. Your friend. Beauty Queen

Your comments added much value to the discussion. Many people don't even know there should be a concern about pregnant women and cats. By bringing it up, you helped me expand on the topic. And for that, I'm most grateful! Best wishes my friend. Have a lovely day. Your friend, Beauty Queen

Beertje en Poekie - A cute pic of my moms red cat and my boyfriends spotted cat sleeping together, having a good time :)
Hard to say if I have a favourite cat, I have had lots of cats over the years who I all loved dearly. At the time being I have 4 cats including a cat that's my mums and one is my boyfriends. The other two are mine. I love my moms cinnamon red cat because he's so cuddly and comforting. When he was a kitten and we had him just one day he crawled up and comforted me as I was sick during the school holiday. We call him Beertje (Teddy). My boyfriends cat is very peculiar, he has his own ways and he allways meows wanting to get into my room to lie down in my closet... he has allways done this. He likes to get petted and stroked but can also be busy on his own all day long. He's white and black spots and called Poekie. My white kitty is the eldery one of the lot, she's about 10 years old by now and a real mother to every cat who came into our household. She even starts producing milk when a new kitten is added to the group, protects it and brings it up. She's also a very strict mother though, play with her tail and you'll get an big ol' slap in the head . My youngest kitty, DJ, has different kind of colours and she's a real cuty. She's the only one who can stay on my lap for hours, allthough all of them like to cuddle. When I go away she really misses me and comes running up to me purring as if she were saying 'thank God you came back!'. She's also very playfull and easily offended, she's a little princess. She will get back at me if I tease her and whack me in the head on the stairs. It's really funny. Because my youngest kitty is most affectioness of me I tend to say she's my favourite, but I treat them all as equal as I can and I love them all:)

What a gorgeous cat! My Big Man cat looks jut like that, except he is more sleek and the fur around his face and neck is not so thick. I guess he must be from a related breed! Thanks for the pic.

i have three cats at home. i'll have to admit that my domestic shorthair girl will always be my favourite. she is my first cat. before her, i've never thought i'll ever have a cat. i've always thought i will have a big dog when i get my own place. i found her lying in the middle of a small side road, motionless. i slowly nursed her back to health even though the vet advised me to put her down. we've been through so much that she completely trust me. no matter how it hurts when i clean her wounds, she'd just look at me with her big eyes that seems to say 'hey, i do trust you'. she sleeps with me and watches over me. she is definitely my favourite.

That's my favorite cat story so far! So sweet. Cats are really that way. They do develop trust for us! And they can tell when we love them back. Thank you for sharing your story. I am sure your kitty is in good hands.

This is hard to answer . They all are my little baby luvs and each one has their own unique ways . I have to say though that my Princeton shines the brightest . From the time he was a kitten he has been my little friend and always seems to cheer me up by being silly , and with his goofy headbuts . When he was no more than 3 weeks old he climbed up the bed when i was doing my hair , and curled up in my lab . From then on he had me hooked .

My female cat, EB, got the big belly too when I was pregnant. I think she picked up on my pregnancy hormones and they affected her.

I have 2 cats. I love them both very much. They have 2 different personalites. Luna is the talkative one who says "mama". He's more aloof. Star is the loverboy cat who has to be next to me always touching me. I don't think I would dare pick a favorite. It just wouldn't be right. At least I wouldn't want to say it out loud. So I will just continue to love them both equally.
