I walked 6 miles yesterday.

My friend and I walked 6 miles yesterday.It was pretty exciting to make it all that way but today I am stiff as a board,can hardly move,lol.I think we did pretty good because it took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes.What is the farthest you have ever walked?We plan to do this twice a week from now on.I have heard that walking is healthy for you,what do you think?

Walking is great exercise. Of course, just about any exercise is good for you. It is good to get up and get moving-- whether it be walking or belly dancing, swimming or mountain climbing.

Congratulations! That's quite a distance. If you are able to do it it's great exercise and a great way to lose weight. The farthest I have walked lately has been from the upstairs of the house to the kitchen...lol This requires walking down 8 steps. I do alot of walking at work but it's start and stop so it really doesn't count. Some days I am simply standing on my feet and that's difficult. I use to walk around a lake with a friend but have had a back issue for almost 2 years and it's just too difficult to do any longer. I do make myself walk the steps when I am home. Am doing laundry today and it's 16 steps from the computer room to the laundry area. I purposely walk it as much as I can to keep the ole heart pumping.

That must have been a very good muscle stretch and a wonderful country walk! I have no doubt in my mind that your health greatly improved-it is this sedentary life, no walks, only TV and computer screens and car rides that will kill us soon!

Dear friend, Walking is too very much good for health, it helps to keep a better blood circulation, much stress free, tension lessens, maintains stamina so on goes the health side of walking. I do remember how long I had walked may be more than 8 kilometers. But nor more than 15 kilometers. I too like walking, but I do have to find a time to walk which is not much possible as I do have lots of other works.

If you waked 6 miles on you first outing i'll bet you are stiff. Walking is good for your cardio-vascular system so good luck!

Thats really good that you did so well - it will probably get easier too each time you do it! The most I have ever walked is about 2 miles I think but not for a long while! Walking is a good way ot exercise though and it's free! x
