Is there a truck to boil rice?

When i try to make like most people, enough water until dry... it is always so bad! And i always tend to think the water dry and the rice will burn... I really dont understand how to do it! So i do it with lots of water and when i see the rice is ready i put out the water and wash the rice in cold water... its beautifull made, but is cold and a waste of water and time and also gas... So, how you do it, please?

You proably have the heat too high as well. It only needs to be high until it starts to boil, than you turn it down to a VERY low simmer and cover the pan. Like the other person said, 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water. The rice MUST be level in the cup too. Jasmine rice is 1 cup and 1 1/2 cups of water because its a firmer texture. Sushi rice is sticky and needs more. Each bag has directions on how to make the rice.

This is what I do to make rice: 2 cups water 1 cup rice Add both to pan bring to a boil turn down the heat to medium and keep an eye on it until you see no more water boiling. Remove from burner cover with a pan lid and let sit for a few minutes. NO stirring while it's cooking only time you stir it it when you remove the lid after letting it sit for awhile to fluff it up. Hope that helps. Amberina
