I have been smoking on and off for 8 years, and I have been able to quit all three times I have gotten pregnant with NOOOOO problems. But I somehow start again after I had my sons. I have recently been diagnosed with COPD and I have asthma. I want to quit but its so hard. I have tried taking chantix and it hasnt helped at all. Please give me some advice or tips that have helped you quit. My lungs thank you in advance!

my husband quit smoking recently. he had been smoking for easily 10 years or more. he was going to try the gum or something but it is so expensive. all he did was slowly work himself off of them. he knew about how many he had in one day, so each week he just tried to have one or two less. he worked himself down to the point where he only was having 2 a day so he just quit completely. it has been almost 3 months and he says he feels fine. my dad is trying to quit too. i think he is taking chantix. i know its some pill the doctor prescribed him but i'm not sure if that is what it is called. he said it seems to be working pretty well for him.

I've tried the chantix and it didnt work for me. It seems like its not that my body is wanting nicotine, its more of a habit to smoke when Im driving, on the computer, or if I see someone else smoking!
