I live in Delhi. But here we have a mixed crowd. Some families allow jeans for girl children whereas some don't. In India lots of places do not allow women to wear jeans. What is it like in your place?

I'm from the United States and I find that interesting that they don't allow women to wear jeans or pants in certain parts of the world. It's not just in India, but in a lot of countries near your part of the world. In the United States, women have been allowed to wear pants/jeans since the Old West Days in the late 1800s. Most of the time, it was only tolerated for women who worked ranches and who did "man's work", but not around town or outside the home area. But, mostly, they didn't start wearing pants until the late 1950s and those pants looked very feminine being very baggy, almost like a skirt and were mostly worn around the house or while running errands. It really wasn't until the 60s and 70s that wearing pants were very fashionable and women began wearing them everyday.

Oh that is interesting. Even here I see every reason for wearing jeans or pants cos when females travel in buses if they don't wear pants like clothes they struggle. Wearing tight skirts like clothes is to me little uncomfortable.

It's not that it is banned. People use, but there are lots who are not using. Specially the older generation hardly use.

There are still people around the globe whose very unrealistic. And I feel sorry for them. Fashion also evolve in every way they can. It's not because its inappropriate, it's just how we handle it. As for me, I don't wear proper (meaning skirts and the like) anymore since I am not comfortable with it. But when it is necessary to dressed-up then it's time to get dressed-up!

Here in this part of the world women and girl both wear jeans. They dont wear if the dont care too. Even some of the church folks wear them now also where they were prohited. I do think it is a cultural thing in India. When I do see Indian ladies here some do wear their normal attire.

I know a girl is Kalkaji whose parents do not allow her to wear jeans. She is a nice girl, but parents think it is inappropriate.

I live in Missouri in the United States. Almost all little girls around here wear jeans. I can only think of one family in particular that does not allow the females in the family to wear jeans. They wear long skirts all the time.
