Do you consider yourself a nerd?

I do, and I'm proud of it! I want to hear from others who also do. It has nothing to do with age. You can be an old nerd or a young nerd.

yea, I'm probably a nerd because I care about education and being successful, unlike non-nerds who often work at fast food places and stores and don't care about their future.

When I say nerd, I don't mean anything in referance to jobs or income. I know of two thirtysomething nerds who don't work, and live with mom. However, they have the biggest record and CD collection you'll ever see, and could answer any question on music or music history. That's just an example.

Right on Gwenshin! I'm a nerd through and through and I am proud to be one. We're in pretty good company being nerds (at least we're not serial killers).

Completely. When the title was rubbed in your face repeatedly throughout your childhood, you never quite shed it, I think -- although most of my friends would never believe it of me now. One guy I met thought I would have been popular/class smart-a$$ -- boy was he off mark. Great thing is though (ask Bill Gates!) once you've left the insipid walls of childhood/adolscent schools, Nerdom is a good thing. :)

I'm probably more of a "geek" than a "nerd" bu those terms are pretty interchangeable by most. I'd even take "dork" most of the time. But isn't "nerdy" pretty in?
