When going out which do you prefer to wear - flip flops or shoes?

Hi iskayz....I love the feeling of freedom(for my feet) when I wear flip flops and that is why I wear them probably eight months out of the year. If I am going to a dressy function I will wear strappy heels with no nylons (unless it is November-March, then I wear nylons). The only times I wear shoes consistantly are when I am doing some type of physical activity like working out and then I wear my tennis shoes, and when I go to work I usually wear some slip on wedge shoes.

Rubber shoes hands down. For me its more on the go and ready for anything and I really hate to get my feet wet or dirty so rubber shoes with socks are always my footwear. I only use flipflops when Im sporting pedal pants and when my shoes are in the wash. I dont know why but I feel more tired with flip flops and I walk different too. Maybe because with shoes I only need to lift my feet and my shoes just go along with it but with flip flops I need to lift my feet and the flipflops. It would be mighty embarrassing if my footwear 'walked' without me.LOL!

I love flip flops and have found some that are very comfortable to wear even when you are going to be on your feet for awhile. I love Sketchers flip flops they are so comfortable I wear flip flops in the winter too!

I like flip flops too but if I have to have a long walk, I prefer shoes. I've heard from the news that flip flops could be unhealthy too if used for walking. But if you will just sit by the beach, no problem. You may also want to read thru the link below. hi. Since I stopped working and not obliged to wear shoes anymore, I always wear flip flops wherever I go. It's so much comfortable and at least I don't get those pesty callouses anymore. But i do prefer flip flops which have cutie designs in them so at least it doesn't look like the regular ones that I use at home. I like those with different designs and colors and some are a little higher than the normal ones. I think I have about 20 pairs accumulated through the years. I store them inside shoe boxes or plastics so they don't get dusty or dirty.

Well since I wear heels everyday at work so if I'll just have to go out and go to the mall..I just have to relax my feet and just wear flip flops..it's relaxing and with all the fashionable designs of the flip flops well i guess... that's the best of it...your feet can rest and still in fashion. ;p

Hi iskayz, I prefer to put on flip flops while hanging around the shopping mall and doing groceries at the market. Normally these indoor activities need lesser walking and my legs don’t feel tired but more relaxed as they could provide better ventilation. I like wearing sneakers while going out to the park or having any outdoor activities that need to walk a longer distance. Sneakers could protect my feet and also keep them clean away from the dirt. posting and take care.

I normally prefer flipflops in the summer, since I would rather go barefoot then wear shoes,lol. And there are so many fun styles now, I have about 4 pair, different colors. And since I live in the northeast now where I can't wear them year around, like Texas, I get them out as soon as the weather turns warmer. Although I still run around barefoot in the house in the winter.

Personally I would go barefoot all summer but two months ago I had plantars warts removed from the bottom of one of my feet and now I have to settle for flip flops...the closest thing to being barefoot and I won't wear anything else.

Canvass slip-ons are comfortable to wear especially on tiled floors but from where I live, flip-flops are the best. Not only are they comfortable, they also have this laid-back look as well.

interesting that 2 posters above me prefer to go barefoot. i also love going barefoot. if i had my way i would never put anything on my feet :) i HATE wearing shoes 'cos everytime i put those monsters on my feet will sweat in less than 5 minutes! but since i can't go barefoot all the time, flip flops are then next best thing. i even wear them in winter here 'cos it's not that cold in the south.

I prefer wearing sandals. Flip flops I think are too homey, and shoes suffocates my feet, so I go with the one in the middle.

It is summer here and the heat is too much so i would go for the flip flops.It's true,you're comfortable wearing these flip flops.With it on my feet i can move around fast.Run after the kids who kept on going their own way when they are in the mall.......but on winter i prefer wearing the rubber shoes of course.

i also prefer flip-flops because they're easy to wear and un-wear. you just slip it on and slip it off your feet. very convenient, and comfortable.

We have a pretty large amount of rain throughout the year and when you get wet feet in open shoes it feels like slipping of the road in a car; you can't move your feet the way you want to and it can hurt pretty much too if you foot slips of but your toes are still on and you get all sorts of weird positions. I like to wear flip flops when it's warm, dry weather around here but not all day long when I have to go to work for example. I stand a lot during the day and they don't have a great foodbed (none at all, lol) and no good support for your feet. Also, the toddlers I work with will stand on your feet or run over them with your bikes because they merely don't watch out so it's saver to wear closed shoes.

Well I am a rubber shoes lover. Though I love flip-flops too, strolling around is a little far and will definitely give a little stress on my feet so I need to protect it by wearing a comfortable footwear...a rubber shoes. If my stroll is just around the community...of ocurse I will choose flip flop. If going window shopping or the mall, wearing rubber shoes is my choice. LOl. Take care =)

when i dress really nice and sassy, maybe the shoes, but for comfort flipflops, they are adorable too like shoes

I definitely wear shoes. I only wear flip flops in the house mostly. I just don't feel fully dressed if I am wearing flip flops with an outfit.
