I just wanted to let everyone know that Paypal sent me an immediate response for the phishing e-mail that I forwarded to them at spoof@paypal.com. You can my a difference. Here is a copy of the e-mail that THE REAL Paypal sent to me. Thanks for taking an active role by reporting suspicious-looking emails. The email you forwarded to us is a phishing email, and our security team is working to disable it. ------------------------- What is a phishing email? ------------------------- Phishing emails attempt to steal your identity and will often ask you to reveal your password or other personal or financial information. PayPal will never ask for your password over the phone or in an email and will always address you by your first and last name. Take our Fight Phishing Challenge at https://www.paypal.com/fightphishing to learn 5 things you should know about phishing. You'll also see what we're doing to help fight fraud every day. ------------------------- You've made a difference. ------------------------- Every email counts. By forwarding a suspicious-looking email to spoof@paypal.com, you've helped keep yourself and others safe from identity theft. Thanks, The PayPal Team

Wow what a good thing you have done by turning in the bad email. I have not gotten a bad email from paypal. I have from Bank of America. the bad part of it is I do not have an account with Bank of America. I knew right a way it was fraud.

I get those mails too. Those "hi" subject lines and that I've won a lottery in UK. I've never been to UK. I wish I would. And there's this Nigerian who wants to leave his money to me because he trusts me...then in the end they'd ask you personal details and then I ask myself, why on earth would I reveal my identity to someone I personally don't know. We even get scammed by people we know, how much more these people.

I get a least 5 of these scam emails a week. your account is limited, verify your password, we need you to update, ect. they are all scams. The only email they have ever sent me is one telling me that I have received a payment or made a payment. Oh, and I guess that my funds were transferred as well. they will never ask you to verify anything through an email, you can only and should only ever do that right on the paypal site. Glad they gave you an answer, but if you got one of these spam emails more are on the way.
