What if I created a duplicate discussion thread?

in most forums, this is one of the most common violations... since i am new here and don't know my way around that much, there is a big possibility that i might start a new discussion on topics that were already discussed before i came. would that be a violation? how can i avoid that? how can i search for a topic i'm interested so i can avoid creating duplicate discussion? or is that tolerated here? thanks!

if you post duplicate discussions the chances are more to get deleted by mylot when they see this or some one may report it. it may affect yours earnings as well as those who responds . READ THE FULL FAQ. DO a search in discussions with keywords of the discussion you are about to start. best of luck and happy mylotting.

okay... so there's the possibility of being reported. i fear that most than being reprimanded by the admin themselves... thanks mtsandeep! and happy mylotting too!

myLot says to look and see if a discussion already exists before posting one of your own, but I honestly don't think they enforce that rule very much. It would be extremely labor intensive to do so, and as long as someone isn't doing the copy/paste from someone else's discussion, I don't think it's an issue. If you have a valid conversation you want to start, then go ahead. You can search, though, but putting in keywords in the box near the top of the page. If you don't see anything recent, don't worry about it. As long as you're not doing it to steal an idea rather than come up with something on your own, I don't think it's a big deal. In other words, if you're honest and not trying to cheat the system, you should be fine.

so there's a search function at the top, now i see it (lol) thanks Ldyjarhead. definitely, it would be a honest mistake if i indeed created a duplicate discussion (aside from being too lazy to search) will try my best to avoid it 'tho thanks again!
