Is it just ME or IS it really harder to write long responses now?

Hey there mylotters i just find it hard now to write more than 4 lines because of the NEW LAYOUT!! I am so used to the old layout that I have developed this 'uncanny' ability to know when I have typed in 4 lines of response (I heard somewhere that you get paid more by writing more than 4 lines =.=)

I think we just have to try to be as detailed as we can in our responses. If we really have something interesting and informative to say on a specific topic, the length of our response will be long enough. Just start writing what you want to say, you'll see it's much easier to achieve those lines when you don't think about it. I never do and sometimes I'm stunned about how much I wrote in one response. And sometimes I'm done in one line, and that's ok too, I'm going to be paid as much as a longer response, but if it's what I want to say, than it's good for me. Have a nice day

Hey there bieke81. I am trying to figure how mylot.com pay us and it is really weird because it is almost random the amount of money i get everyday.

We all have to do our best to make MyLot a great site. When we do that we shall see that our earnings will increase. It's not really about the quantity, but most of all the quality that is the most important in responding or starting discussions. Have a nice day

Well, since you stated that you developed that 'uncanny' ability to know that you have already typed in four lines for a response, you might as well develop another 'uncanny' ability as well now that the new lay out has been made here in this site. About earning when you have made those four line responses, would that mean we wouldn't earn at all if we just gave two or three lined responses. It got me thinking like, in order for the system to recognize a member's earning streak, if its only by lines, anyone can simply type non-sense just to fill up those four lines. Then another idea of mine would be that, in case we've only given three lines from a previous response that we have posted, perhaps the first line that we may give on our next post would be would then get recognized as the 'fourth' line and be accepted a valid earning. Well, those are just ideas..

A page filled with "words" ain't a bad idea.. As long as the discussion is motivated with interesting points and opinions, you wouldn't really have to take notice of how long or short a response is

So true! I have a webpage that is full of "words" that my daughter wrote when she was only one year old! It does not make much sense, but it is a full page! I think it has more to do with how much conversation we make, and how many people respond to our words!

Hey there ratyz, hahaaha.. Unfortunately, it's hard to undevelop my previous 'uncanny' ability and develop another 'uncanny' ability but I am getting there. I study maths a lot but I still could not figure how myLot works, There's no way they have people who read all our comments to determine whether it is of quality or not. My guess is they have asystem that recognize how much lines we write. But like you said, people can write 'chickenchickenckicken' in four sentences. I give up....sigh..

actually we can be more detailed in what we write. the new layout is making the lines tyo be wider. so the number of line counts are really decreasing as i think. Its good as long a syou are detailed in post.

Hey, I thought I was the only one who noticed this. The space for the response is too big so when you've typed a long response and you think it is about four lines already, it still isn't. LOL! This is why I try to look for topic that I am really interested in so that I can put a lot of things. I do miss the old layout but well, there's room to change right? goodluck and I hope we get the hang of posting with this layout.

hello friend, i have not met this problem.I think there is no limit on the lines you wtite here.Because i find there are many mylotters here wrote a lof of lines.so i think this is not a problem.did you really meet this problem when you wrote more than 4 lines? It is so surprising.Maybe it is only a system error you met. I hope you can write more now. Good luck to you.

Hey there, thanks for the reply but I think you must have misinterperet what I meant by getting harder which is actually now I find it harder to write long response because the screen is getting wider so it takes more words and time to write long responses than before. Hope this clear things out.:D

Actually, you could be on to something for sure. I was beginning to think the same thing too on here. I know before without a shadow of a doubt, when my post would be that long, but now they have increased the length of the responses. Wonder if this is to help with our Earnings on here or what?

I do not think it matters as much how long our response is, as much as it matters how much participation that we generate! In other words, if what we wrote stimulates the conversation (nevermind the economy!) then we may get a few cents more for our part! At least most of myLot is easy to understand, as I have been to other forums that were ever so slightly confusing! So I say, no, it is not tougher to get four lines written, but the format seems to be predetermined!

Hmmm, koharukusumi. I cannot tell much of a difference in typing my responses since they changed the looks of the mylot page. I, too, try to make sure I always respond with at least 4 lines. Sometimes, that is difficult. But, I think I read in myLot's FAQs that it is recommended to type at least 4 sentences. Well, happy myLotting and take care.

When I involved in mylot,I even didn't know I can get money from here. It's a opportunity to talk with anyone from any country, that's important and meaningful to me. I want to exchage my thinking with many myloters, and then I'll write as long as possible.I hope other myloters can understand me,my english is not very well, but at least I'm improving.
