Do your pets have any bad habits?

My cats don't have any big bad habits. However, they like to scratch our sofa and that's the biggest bad habits from them. Sometimes they will behave a little bit cool but I don't mind it very much. Cats never like to please anybody. They have their own characters.

Hi youless! The only bad habit I am really pissed off with one of our pet dog is, he hides our slippers when they are outside. haha..However, it is sometimes fun to look for them as if we are all playing hide and seek but no fun when I am in a hurry. Take care and God Bless!

Hi there! I have 2 dogs and they have a habit of eating or licking their feet all the way up to their tails. They always lick their bodies and its annoying sometimes. I also has a bad effect because they stink to fast. Maybe because of their saliva that tends to just dry on their bodies. (ewie..) Thats why give them a bath almost everyday. Ciao!

Thought I might be able to help, considering my extensive experience with dogs. Bathing them daily is actually the WORST thing you could do. By bathing them that often, you're drying out their skin .. removing the natural oils they need in order to stay healthy. In other words, by bathing them this often, you're actually drying out their skin, which is likely why they're over grooming. Dogs do groom themselves, by licking .. it's normal. But excessive grooming for a dog is usually a sign that something is wrong. It can be simply that their skin is overly dry (frequent bathing causes this), that they have an allergy, or something medical. Dogs really should not be bathed more than twice a month, even once a month .. unless they've gotten ridiculously dirty playing outside in the mud, lol.

Yes thats what I know. Once a week is fine. But my dog stinks so fast and I can't stand the smell. I think its the licking that causes him to stink so fast. He stinks 2-3 days after giving him a bath.

Bad habits???? I thought that was the defition of a cat LOL. Well I share a house with a friend and between us there are four cats. We each have two and they know who belongs to who. I have a male who lives in my bedroom because he had developed a behavioral problem of peeing as soon as he goes anywhere else in the house. He has started to try to beat me to the door when I leave the room and it drives me NUTS! Then he goes downstairs, follows a specific route, and then comes right back up the stairs. However he would not do that unless I was padding behind him. His name is Arthur and he is a white, blue eyed, hearing Turkish Angora and he is my heart. He has another habit of having a fit when I talk on the phone. He does not understand the difference between laughter and crying and he gets really upset when I talk on the phone. He has begun to mutter in the last years (Turks are talkers), and he is driving me crazy walking around muttering. Paisley is my teenager, she is a real pistol. She is allowed out of my room and when she lets me know that she wants to come in, she cries at the door, if I do not hear her, or cannot get to her right away she scratches on the door, if I still do not get there fast enough she throws herself at the door. Then more often than not, when I go to the door, she turns tail, runs down the hall and disappears down the steps. That drives me NUTS. I told her that she is "crying wolf" and that I do not appreciate it but... it does not seem to phase her. One of my roommates cats looks like I am going to kill her when I sit on the sofa so she runs away. I have always been sweet to her. I cannot recall sitting on her but... uh oh. I think I may have almost sat on her. She snuggles under an afghan there. The beige cat, she has issues, she is very insistent on sharing any kind of dairy product that I am eating. She has gone so far as to sneak up behind me over my shoulder and knock my utensil out of my hand. She has gone so far as to grab the edge of the bowl. You may wonder where I am when she is doing this. I am eating and watching TV. She stares at me with the most beautiful, precious, innocent face, how could I not share. If I think of anything else I will post again. I love cats. I love all animals and dogs too but cats are easier for me to care for even though they are allowing us to live with them.

I'd also be concerned that your dogs have been infected. Lyme Disease is a very serious concern, and very common issue, for dogs.

You can treat your dogs with a topical medication that you rub into the skin at the back of the neck about once per month. You get it fron the vet, there are several and one is called Frontline. It also kills fleas and will not allow any that jump off to reproduce. This is a magical agent for dog owners or any pet owner that allows their pets outside as flea infestations are horrid. If you get bitten by a tick and live in certain area's Lyme disease is very serious. Please let your physician know immediately if you get a tick bite, whether you think it is causing you a medical problem or not. This is a horrible medical problem that can affect you for the rest of your life. I too am concerned about you.

For some reason our cat loves to scratch the carpet at the top of the stairs, she has put a hole in it, it's that bad, it's always the same spot she goes for, someone suggested putting pepper down to stop her. I know the carpet is really old but she does have plenty of scratching posts to use but no she has to use this particular piece of carpet at the top of the stairs. No matter how many times we tell her to stop it she still does it, little madam she is!!!

I have 4 dogs and they all beg while we're eating. The oldest one doesn't anymore but she use too. The other 3 crawl up in my lap and around me and stare and lick their lips. I usually cave in and give them a bite of whatever I am eating. I know, that's not a good thing to do.

The Dogs - This is Max and Zoey, my 2 GSD / Husky rescues.
My cat, Gizmo, has only one bad habit .. needing TOO much attention. For an animal who's stereotyped as being independent, you couldn't prove it by him. He refuses to sit anywhere that isn't my lap, kissing my face while I try to watch tv, or read. If I put him down, he climbs back up. If I toss him a few feet away so he gets the point, he turns around and comes right back. Stubborn little ... Now my dogs on the other hand ... geez. I have two rescue dogs, both german shepherd/ husky crosses, Max and Zoey. Being rescues, they both have bad experiences in their past that left their mark on them, and the biggest being attachment disorders. In other words, they're so grateful to be loved that they can't stand to be away from me, and act out ridiculously when they're forced to me. I have to kennel Zoey when I go out of the house now, because she'd chew up anything she could reach, including trying to chew her way through the front door to come find me. Max, if I forget to open the curtains, will pull them down from the wall. He'll go upstairs and 'mess' in the hallway. They do NOT do these things if I'm home ... only when I go out. It's payback for being forced to be left alone. Big sucks .. all three of these animals, lol.

Hi youless, My parents cat has a bad habit for me..LOL! Every time the family will take any meals of the day, she is always under the table, kissing our feet, scratching our legs or arms just to get the food...Most of the time, when we will start eating, we will also place some food in her plate but, she will eat it before we are done and it's a habit in the family to stay longer in the table talking and sharing experiences! I hate it since when she bites, it's painful..My dad will just prepare a stick and when she will not behave, my dad will lift the stick pretending to spank her and she will just sit down properly..LOL!

Sometimes my cats will also have this bad habit. They have food already. Actually we prepare food for them before our meal. But perhaps they always think we eat better than them

My dogs, well, the only thing that makes me scream out of loud is when they get the trash and eat the plastic, and even eat the mess in the trash can. Oh, I hate that! I don't know where and how they learn that thing.
