Do you start a discussion or answer discussion?

I have noticed that when I start a discussion I seem to earn more. I am always responding to my friends discussion but I dont seem to make as much. I try to get on as much as I can but with my kids and my husbands crazy hours its very hard for me to do. So I find that alot of my topics stem from what is going on in my everyday life and I am finally reaching the ten dollar mark. I also try to respond to as many discussion as I can which helps add to it. I try to make my topics as detailed as possible but do you respond bettter to a more detailed discussion or one that is only a couple of parargraphs. Would love to know everyones thoughts and ideas.

I tried to do both but sometimes i lost any topic to discuss so i try to make responses as much as i can.I make responses directly to the point but sometimes there are discussions that need a detailed answer.

Well, I do both. Posting discussion and responding to other's discussion. I preferred to response to a discussion that is precise and direct to the point. Too long and wordy discussion takes time to read and you forget the flow of your idea in your response if the topic is too long. That is why I like to response a discussion that is not too long neither too short.

Im more on responding to the discussions. Its opposite for me,i think i earn more when answering the discussion rather than posting a discussion.Maybe because im just lack of starting a discussions,so i felt the earning came from what i have response.=)

I do both, but mostly, I answer discussions since I wanted to reach 100 posts (I wanted my own star rating). I am not really after the earnings, not that I don't need it, but I know I won't really earn here. I am just enjoying the site, having fun reading and responding. Have a great day!

I am new here. I did responcses at first. But now I am going to begin dicussions myself but find it is difficult to find topics. seems every topic I can think of is in this forum already. So I will do the responses for some more time and see what will I learn fron others posts.

i mainly answer discussion started by others. i only start when I really want to ask something here or want to share something badly. I have heard from many that starting new one gives much earning.

I enjoy answering someone elses discusssion. I always hope that I can add something or a discussion or help someone out who has a problem. But since I am not able to get on here as much as I like then I have found for me it works when I start a discussion. I am hoping once the kids go back to school I will have more free time to answer my friends discussions.

Hi there snoopy04! Well, I normally do both. However, when I really can't think of a good topic to work on, I would spend my time responding to discussions. There are times when my mind seems flooded with so much ideas. That's the time I would start several discussions. For the past few weeks though, I spent most of my myLot time responding to discussions started by other members of myLot.

I usually answer to discussions rather create my own. Like you, I'm busy taking care of my husband and son, and not to mention, I never have a day-off with the household chores. So, I just try to sneak in a couple of hours Mylotting and I'm off to my daily tasks. And I don't regularly create my discussions because of my limited time. When I start my own discussion, I make sure that I comment back to those who respond to it. When I'm sure I won't have the time to do that, I wait for the right time in starting my own discussion. Plus, more importantly, I don't have any creative ideas about what topic I should post. I respond more to discussions that are better explained and will certainly result in more detailed responses, compared to ones that only has a couple of sentences and is basically can only be answered by yes or no.

I'm one to respond more to discussions rather than starting discussions. I can rarely think of anything that others havent started already or that seem as interesting as what others have posted. I have to put more thought into what I start and I worry more about if its interesting.

I prefer both but I rather like more to answer a discussion. I start a discussion when I really need some advices or opinions. I answer many discussions where I can share something useful.

Hi Snoopy04, you must be a fan of Snoopy? Or one of your kids' favourite? Well, I try to do both, but it's so much easier to respond than to start a discussion. It's a mental block, having to think of a topic; and when ideas come, I'm usually outside the house, so by the time I'm home, I've forgotten what I've wanted to write. And these ideas don't come when I'm stuck in front of the computer!! So keep posting and have a good day!

I generally just post responses. I see a lot of people who will start topics about anything and everything and sometimes those just annoy me. Some of the interest areas I have never really get much traffic, like football, but occasionally I try to start a topic. If I have a question about how something works I will ask as well, but 90% of what I do is just responding. Now maybe I will go and start a discussion.

I am very much tempted to start new discussions left and right. But then, I have to screen them myself and think; is this topic really worthy to be discussed, and what would be the anticipated answers (I'm sure we have them). Because I'm afraid that I might start a senseless topic or not-so-good discussions, who knows what kind of reply I would receive. I'm happy answering on other's discussions though ;)

Hello snoopy04,I like to post better than start a discussions. I seems to have a very hard time looking and starting a new discussions. It is also time consuming for me if start a new one because I give each and everyone a comment. I don't noticed if I am earning more from starting a new discussions or posting to one. Maybe because I start maybe one or two discussions per week. If I see my last discussions is not getting any more responses I start to think of a new one. With regards to the the thought and details of a discussions, it helps to have details but not too long, just enough. I usually choose discussions that I know I can response well so the details is not important. Even some one liner discussions is ok as long as the importance of the topic is in there.

Once i am logged on mylot i am more of responding to discussions made.I check all the discussions tab and respond to topics that gets my interest.Same as you are i have kids who goes around my side disturbing me once in a while...so i don't get to concentrate on starting my own topic, sometimes even responding. And i would prefer responding to few paragraph topic.....i tend to loose ideas that's building up inside my mind because of long discussions.GTG,my daughter wants her milk!!

I've also noticed that you get a lot more money for starting a discussion rather than responding to one too, and I would only start discussions if I could get enough ideas, but it usually seems easier to respond to them. So far I've made $3.13 at this site, but it seems that most of that money has come from the good discussions I've started. The ones that get at least 5 responses. It's just a little hard to make discussions that people will respond to. :/ Although, when you make a question that get's like 25 responses, it can get you like a quarter from just that one post. :D

Hi Snoopy Love that name. My first dog I named Snoopy. Anyway, I'm new to all this so I don't know much about the earning part. I find myself getting involved in reading more than writing. I really enjoy doing both. I've started a few discussions without many responses so I don't really know what is better. I guess we'll find out together.

I have answered too many discussions vs the only two I started. I have no clue what I have earned in either one of them btw.
