What is the best thing about where you live?

What is the worst? For me the best thing about where I live is actually two things. My church being the first and foremost. I have truly found home. As for the other, we bought a cute little house that had a field out back and the town decided to turn it into a park the year after we moved in. Made the taxes go up, but it is nice having a big park in our back yard. The worst things are (two here as well) we have a double train track running through town on either side of our house. So there are always trains blocking the road and going at all hours of the day and night. As for the other, we bought a cute little house that had a field out back and the town decided to turn it into a park the year after we moved in. Now everybody likes to cut through our yard to get to the park even though the entrance is about 1/2 block down. Lazy bums!

The best thing about where I live is that the houses are quite old, which means that they have larger rooms, whereas a newer house for a same price has smaller rooms. Also I quite like living next to the beach, even though I rarely go to the beach, because I have lived by it for 17 years, so the novelty has kind of warn off. We also have a lot of transport in the local area, buses and metros and then when you get into town you have trains.

I am in agreement about older houses having bigger spaces. Although ours was built in 1940 and the rooms are rather tiny. Go figure.

I was talking about the older houses in our area. For the price of our house, you can get a newer house with smaller rooms, but there are an odd house or two in our area that are new, but you have to pay more as it has large rooms.

The best thing about where I live is my porch swing! I love going out on the porch and drinking my coffee watching my baby girl run around playing. No cars, Just the sounds of nature and her!

That must be so nice. I would let my girl run around, but we have pets and someone won't pick up after his dog. That is all I want or need is for her to trip in that. However, it is nice to have the park option. I usually find a nice big area where I check for dog spots then let her loose.

The best is that I have the opportunity to become productive, the worst is that I am not with my family.

First let me be positive and say the good things about this place. Now this place where we live is a quiet and posh area. our house is not on the main road so there is no traffic sounds. I love the quiet of this place. bUT THE negative aspect is as all the houses are independant and we are relatively new here there are no kids to play with my son. He would have loved company. One more thing about this town {not where we live} is the pollution. Uff its awful.

the best thing about where I live? It's where I live! Don't know why but whenever you travel home from somewhere else in the country there's a great feeling you have whenever you return to your home city.

Yes, I understand about family memories. Those are nice. That is what I love about where I live. Both of my kids have been raised here. We have both sides of the dining room archway marked for the kids heights and every thing.

Hi tannie, The things that I love best here in our place is the quite neighborhood, very peaceful and all you will hear are the birds singing...Plus the inexpensive restaurant all over the place..It's indeed great! A walking distance park which is great venue for walking and jogging!

That sounds like something out of a fairy tale. Like Snow White or something.

The thing I like about my home is that it is very near to the main road so it is very convinient to catch a bus or taxi or train. Also at the same time the thing I dislike about my home same that it is near to the main road so every time we have to listen the traffic noises.

It sounds like you are like me. Your favorite feature is also the bane of your existence. I know that.

The best thing about where i live is that we have lovely neighbours. We are just a five minute drive from everything. We also have the lowest cirime rate in the country. And just a 20 minute drive away and you are in the countryside with stunning views. The worst thing is that everyone knows everyone elses business and they just love to tell everyone. Even when they get it wrong.

The best part about where I live is the comfort and the view. Because of the circumstances and needs of my landlord, I got a really nice room with cable and aircondition and the use of a high level apartment at a very, very, good rental price. Also, we are on the top floor of a building thats already on top of a low hill, so the view is scrumptious. I cannot believe my good fortune is getting this place to rent. I've been living there for four years now.

Hi The best thing about where I live it is a home of my own and it is very peaceful, and kinda in the country . We have a huge yard that has a pool, and when we have kids there will be more than enough space for all their things . The downfall is it is by my fiances family and far away from my parents, but they wanna move closer, so in the end it is all good, ya know .

I live in an apartment with around 340 houses, I get to meet people from other states . this opens a window of oppurtunity to learn new things, either the language they speak, the food, customs. so I am in a continuous learning process now getting to know new things. this is what i like about where I live. apart from that there are malls and a huge park just ideal for a good stroll in the evening.

Well, I live on family land. Looking out my front door I can see some of the finest horses around and I think they are beautiful. My home is in a secluded spot in the middle of tall oak and maple trees. It's a rural area so it's quiet most of the time. Unless I want to take our DJ speakers outside and "jam" for a bit. When I do this, no one minds. My neighbors even like the music. Nope, I don't really get into the booty bass or the hi hop and rap much, but the 70's stuff gets cranked up right often. Sorry about your yard becoming a pathway!

Oh now I am turning green. I love horses. Best animal anywhere. They look at you with those big black eyes fringed with those gorgeous lashes... What a sight to see first thing in the morning. I am with you about all that funky music. I like some, but I am mostly an 80's mama. It is when I grew up and that is what I like.

I don't know about that. I have known several homes in my lifetime and most of them I have been very glad to see in the rear view mirror, knowing I never have to go back again. Only through my church am I truly finally home. Even if I leave this house, I will never leave the town.

Let me see. Best: We live on a quite street that is only one block long so It gets little traffic. We have some really good neighbors. Worst: We have one really bad neighbor who is always stirring up trouble and calling animal control every time he hears a dog bark even when our dogs are inside and not barking. Our house is really small and has no storage what so ever.

We have one of those across the road. She calls the city if our lawn gets too tall, even though others have their lawns higher, it is just ours. If we don't rake our leaves when she thinks we should things like that.

I would say the best thing about where I live is that I live inderneath/in front of a mountain. When I go out my front door I look up and I can see trees everywhere. It is absolutely beautiful. When I go out my back door I can see a block of shops and the main road in front of them. This is handy because if I need anything I just have to walk out my back gate and across the road to the shops but it is also annoying because of the traffic and the sirens. Seriously, I hear sirens all day and night. I think I have become desensitised to it. Also, hoons rather enjoy racing up and down the mountain on Thurday, Friday and Saturday nights so that can be frustrating. Overall, I wouldn't change where I live. I love my house, my neighbours and the area's not too bad.

Living around the mountains has got to be the most beautiful thing I have ever dreamed of. I haven't seen any up close, but the movies and photos I have seen.... To live there. Wow.

For the past 3 years I have lived in Ohio, for the 17 years before that I lived in Louisiana. We are relocated here because of Hurricane Katrina, we came here because my family is here and there was no place to go after the storm. One of the advantages of being here is there is no hurricanes, so I don't have to watch the news and pack and wait to evacuate several times a season. We live in a nice neighborhood where I don't have to worry about crime, this is a small town and when we speak of crime it is more or less speeding or dwi's passing through, but not murders or rapes. We are about 10 miles from the big city. I think feeling safe is the most important. I have made several friends here, it isn't home but will do when you consider what kind of place Louisiana was. 70 miles below New Orleans, no McDonalds or Wal Mart, really just a fishing village with nothing to really do. The disadvantages of being here, the tornados that are sometimes really bad in the spring and summer. And the snow and cold weather we have to endure about 4 months out of the year. And one set of neighbors that live across the street that insist on making everyone's life a living He==. Would I go back to where I used to live, never in a million years.

I was thinking when I read this that I would rather have tornadoes any day. At least if there is a tornado in your town, it has a chance of missing you. Not so with a hurricane. Pretty much if your town gets hit, you do too. I am glad that you found a new place to settle here. Maybe one day you will feel home. And don't worry about the neighbor from he**. I think everyone has at least one of those!

the best thing about my place is the food, lots of seafood at cheap price. Also the lifestyle here is quite lax.. there's not much rush, no traffic jam but the bad side is.. kidnapping.. so stupid rebels.
