Junk food and children have a strange affinity to each other. I think they are right to ban junk food in school because hunk food is not good for out bodies and schools should make the effort to help stop children eating junk food. My son experiencing urinalisis examination because of eating junk food and he is under go on treatment.

I have always thought that having junk food in schools was stupid. This is where children are suppose to learn and just what do they think they are teaching these children about nutrition? Parents can talk until they are blue in the face but if they go to school and have a McDonald's in the lunchroom the kids are going to by pass healthy foods for junk food!

I'm sorry to hear about your son's condition. Hope he get well soon. In my opinion, you should eat everything to get all sorts of nutrients but at a moderate amount or if not, the appropriate amount. By getting all sorts of nutrients, your body can function to their optimal in all areas. I would suggest to the school to only give out junk food during lunch with a specific time span. Also to limit selling junk food to very young children (kindergarten - year 2) as they probably still doesn't have the knowledge of what's good and what's not good for them. Also, their little body may not have the capacity to hold large amount of sugar, salt etc. So yeah, I think the school should implement some sort of control and give only a limited variety to junk food.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I agree kids eat WAY too much junk food these days. I'm not sure if banning it altogether is the right thing to do but I don't think they should have snack machines and soda being sold in school. That way kids are more encouraged to eat the lunch meals from the cafeteria. Maybe if schools took more time to encourge healthy eating habits and had some kind of reward program for eating healthy it would help children out.
