What does this word actually have to do with the real meaning. I mean, why are people who read books called worms? Whats your answer?

lol well might be because we devower (over look speeling please..)the knowledge in the books and we just eat it up! maybe that what they mean...

book worm means who lives only on books eats book sleeps book etc

becoz only worms can spend so much time with books as books are their food.
