why cats and dogs can't live in a peaceful way?

I have pets in home a dog and a cat, Its really my problem how to get them peace,they always fight when they meet anywhere in my house.Sometimes I thinking to give up one of them? need to choose one either cat or a dog or should I buy a chain for my dog and tie the dog all day and night? can you give me best idea regarding my problem?

hi reckon! oh that i don't know. lol but it is a universally accepted idea, because here in our city, when siblings squabble, our parents would say, "daw kuring kag ido" literally meaning like cats and dogs. lol i know it is not a very nice way to describe humans, but these two animals can't dwell peaceably. i have a suspicion though. isn't it because cats are snotty while dogs are playful? just a guess. lol good day and God bless you!

Oh yes they can dwell peaceably. My sister and one of my nieces both have dogs and cats living together with little or no problem. But, that doesn't mean it's possible with all breeds of cats and dogs.

Maybe they are jealous of each other. Give love to both at the same time and they will be ok. No chains for the dog that is not ok. Keep loving them and you will get them calm!

Give them time. Maybe someday they will grow to like each other. That will be unfair for the one that you choose to give up. Animals are fun to be with. But sometimes they can be a pain. Or maybe if one of your friend would like to have a pet. You can give them one.
