Everything we have in the form of food today has both the fresh and the package for, have you ever wondered whether or not the processed food you consume have the same nutritional value as fresh produce? Which would you prefer between processed and package foods?

I try to eat as much as I can fresh food. This is healthier than eating packaged food. But sometimes there are situation that you cann't do anything to avoid eating packaged food. I'm always afraid by the way this food is prepared or even the expires date is true or just something they put there to convince us that it is true. Stay healthy, eat fresh food

Hello,BYOLA! The tinned foods or packet foods or the instant foods have gained immense popularity in the recent years due to busy lifestyles of majority of our women.however, these convenience foods which have preservatives can contribute to an array of diseases.they also play a major role in lifestyle disorders like diabetes, blood pressure, and obesity.from the nutritional aspects nothing ican replace freshly cooked balanced wholesome meals.so i never eat the packaged foods or fast foods. thanx.

I prefer fresh, since if you prepare stuff from scratch you control what's in it, and there are no preservatives, etc. It's hard to avoid packaged stuff, though.

Hey,BYOLA.I don't like packaged food and I go to the market to buy fresh vegetables and meat everyday.I like the green vegetables with drops of water on it.I think the nutritional value of packaged food must be lower than fresh food and if we have time,we really should to eat some fresh vegetables.

i very well agree with you on the nutritional value of fresh foods, you discover that most of the preservatives used in processed and packaged foods on the long run are harmful to health,i also prefer fresh vegetables but its not alll the time we get it

it depends on the type of food. canned food has lots of nutrients. but frozen veggies are pre cooked, and that to me says that they are stripped of nutrients. i prefer most veggies fresh from my garden.

Most times we eat fresh foods. We cook most of our own meals and grow our own tomatoes and herbs. I never buy pre made meals like the ones in the meat counter at the supermarket. They are the beef or chicken dinners already made that you just need to heat up. They are not frozen. I wonder how much preservatives they have to carry the shelf life. I prefer to make it my own. On a rare occassion I will buy some of the frozen entrees like lately when my son had surgery in his mouth and could only eat soft foods, so I bought Stouffer's mac and cheese, fettucine alfredo and such. Usually we make these ourselves but it was easier for him to cook being home alone while we worked. Also when grocery shopping I look at labels of some of the food I buy like cereal, juice, cookies etc and try to avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup. It is really hard to find foods without high fructose corn syrup, it is amazing how many foods have this. I usually buy organics and feel much better about what we are eating.
