My friend told me lately that applying make up everyday is the effective way to reduce and stop pimples.( in her case it works) She said she tried several creams and medicine but none of them work out for her, she also told me that her scars were light now and gradually vanished! I have some scars in my right cheek when I had my pimples before and I was planning to try her suggestions.. I do apply make up like once a year during special occasion and for daily basis, Just a compact.. Before doing so, I am here trying to gather your opinion or personal experienced, For those who have the same problem as mine! What works best for your scars due to pimple?

Honestly, if the scars aren't too bad, then they will fade with age. I have a friend who had HORRID scaring due to acne, and had to have her skin "sanded" not once, but at LEAST 3 times that I know about. The first time was in 9th grade, again while she was still in high school. And I know she had to have had it done again because even by the time she was in college she still had bad acne. On the other hand, my sister had a few scars that you can't even see now, even when she doesn't wear makeup - she's now 50. I never had that bad pimples and if I ever had a scar from them, I couldn't find it now. The scar from the mole removed from my chin, that's another matter all together!

The trick is to keep your skin clean, things like hot compresses to open the pores, then clean and then cold to close them. The heat is opening them and the dust is getting them dirty - why you are getting them no doubt. This may be a case of wearing something to keep them from getting dirty in the first place. But be sure to clean your face really well before going to bed too.

well..my granny use to tell me when you have pimples and scars on your face you should drink one hot glass of milk with turmeric early in the morning and also I had seen my friend using turmeric as the face pack. Daily she would wear it and wash it off and lo!that works for her.

From my experience, I think what your friend told you is not ridiculous or totally unreasonable. I have pimples and scars on my face. Pimples start pop out since I was 12 and it never stop until now. The main cause of the pimples is due to hormone and also my hands which like to touch on my face and scratch on the wound. That's why there is always pimples grow and turn into scars, and before the scars go away, the new pimples pop up. However, when I am hardworking and apply make up, I will try to make sure my hands off my face as I do not want to mess up the beautiful make up. As a result, I seldom touch the wounds and they get to heal faster. With that the scars also go away easier. Besides, when I wear make up, I will make sure I clean my face thoroughly to avoid the pores from getting clog. With the 2 reasons above, the scars and pimples somehow get less. :)

There is no harm trying. :) Make up somehow will make you look prettier. When you are prettier, I am sure you will want it to last longer and so might sooner or later get rid of the habit to take your hands away from the face. ;p I think make up also motivate oneself. Remember, must use make up remover and facial cleaner to wash off the make up everyday. :) Wish you having beautiful day everyday!

hey! the best wya to get rid of scars is to just leave them alone and they will diminish over the years/months! but you can also try natural remedies like honey, milk, egg, and or yogurt on your face for 4 minutes! as for makeup reducing pimples, i think your friends mean natural makeup, the more expensive makeup that don't clog. such as bear minerals! makeup from target or rite-aid is the one that causes pimples and sutff

I think applying make up every day makes your skin worst that's what I feel in order to get exact solution for your problem you have to consult skin specialist who will actually look at your skin and suggest you some nice soap, cream and if needed they also will give you some tonic for your skin glowing.I suggest you to approach skin specialist as early as possible. I am sure your scars and pimples will go off. Take care!

Hello checapricorn, I am lucky that I don't get pimples too often nowadays. The only time that I can get it is whenever I try new skincare product. I always be careful not to try anything that works on others. But last few years, my skin was very sensitive and I got pimples easily. I used different brands to reduce the redness as mine was always big and at the wrong place where it could be seen clearly from afar. Some worked and some not but not all the time the same product worked on my face. When I was in my 20's, I had a big scar on my left cheek. The doctor advised me to take Vitamin B Complex. The scar gradually vanished but the vitamin made me put on weight.

I don't think there is anything that will take the scars away so the only thing I think you can do is hide them with makeup. My daughter has some pretty bad scars on her chin from pimples and the only way she can cover them up so you can't see them very much, is with make up. She has tried so many different things that people have told her about but none of them work except make up. So if you only put on a little bit of powder on it should be good and cover up the most of them. Good luck to you, my friend.

Wow. Makeup removing pimples and scars? That is new to me. I have never heard of that before. I just knew that that they were an effective way of covering up the problem, but not solving them. But hey, there is always exceptions to what we believe to be true.

I don't think applying make up is effective way to reduce or stop pimples. It will rather worsen the situation as your pores will be blocked. Just clean you face with a good cleanser or water.

hi you can try massaging fruits which contains citric acid like Oranges,Lemon and sweet lime. Consuming fresh fruit juices will also help you out. Always use natural and home remedies rather going for artificial makeup, though it might take some time to vanish scars but its a good and natural treatment for your skin.

My face has been breaking out alot lately but I never get any pimples. It is just blemishes on my skin. It leaves scars sometimes also. I do not wear makeup but I have tried to do so in the past. Makeup made my skin break out even worse. I am not sure but I bet you have to use a special kind of makeup or something.

Hello checapricorn, that is interesting, I am not sure if I have heard of make up reducing pimple scars. I use to apply make up everyday to work and unfortunately I did not notice my pimple scar reduce. However for the past four weeks I have been using Anti-aging Exlir day and night cream everyday from Avon. It does wonders, I have noticed pigmentation reduce, a cun spot that I have is reducing and a couple of pimple scars are reducing too. Plus it also makes my face feel firmer and fine wrinkles have dramatically reduced. Usually I don't believe in creams, but this one works, but it is expensive. It costs $79.95 but this month they have special for $59.95 and you get the night cream free. Check out www.avon.com if you are interested in this product. Let me know how you go with your scars by using make up, if it works I would love to know.

Wow she must be really lucky then to have skin adaptable to make-up. It works the other way for me - frequent makeup gives me breakouts. My skin is so sensitive even applying hypoallergenic foundation/powder is a no-no. The only way my pimple scars heal is because I only trust my skin with a good dermatologist. Over the counter toners or what-have-you's just don't work for me.
