Losing your first tooth - how did you do it and how much did you get?

Did you do the tie a string to the door and slam it or just twist until it came out. How much did you get, I remember 25 cents each? One of my children has several teeth loose and is very excited about getting some cash from the tooth fairy. What do you pay for teeth - I give $1 each but some kids get $5 each so I am trying to explain why one tooth fairy leaves more than another to my child.

i don't remember losing my first tooth or really how much i got. i think it was a quarter or two. my daughter just lost her first 2 teeth about a month ago. she lost them a week apart. I wasn't sure how much to give her so I asked her how much she thought the tooth fairy would bring her. She told me $1 for her first tooth lost, then $2 for her second tooth, then so on. Isn't that cute? So that is what we will do for her. I don't know how you could explain why the tooth fairy brings another child more. maybe tell her the other childs tooth must have been cleaner? lol. it would get her to brush her teeth more. Hey, that sounds like a good idea! lol.

Wow - great ideas! I love the idea about getting them to brush better. I am definitely going to use that one, thanks.

I was given the standard dollar, lol. But I'll never forget how it happened. I had a loose tooth for weeks because it would come out, it was painful too. So I was standing to close to someone and their arm shot up at the wrong (yet right) time and accidentally hit me in the jaw.

hehe yea the price for teeth certainly gone up over last few years lool was always a piece of silver years ago.. here silver coins is cents.. now kids want gold (1 dollar coins) sorry but i am English ehehehe.. don't really know what dollars and cents look like as never been to America lol i think the door slamming method seems awful lool give the child a hard apple that would soon take the teeth out haha and then you be poor with big payout lool

Tooth fairies weren't very popular in my country. My mother never taught me that. She brought me to the dentist. I didn't have any fears of the dentist either because no one told me or poisoned my mind that children ought to be afraid of the dentist. My mom, however, bribed me for ice cream after every visit from the dentist. When I was a kid I didn't have that concept of cash. All I really cared was chocolates and ice cream so I thought getting myself and ice cream after visiting the dentist was fair enough.
