The economic downturn has increased crime rates. In desperation, many people are turning into thieves, robbers and other related crimes. They will be on the lookout for victims and that could be just anyone. At home we may not feel safe at all as long as these kind of people roams the neighborhood and the streets. Do you have any means of deterring or defending yourself and properties for these criminals?

I have a friend whose house was burglarized twice. I advised him to get guard dogs and a Glock which he did.

Man's best friend has always been the best deterrent.

Yes, I have an in home security system. We really do not need it, but my husband worked for the company at one time. Funny thing about it, is whenever we are cooking and there becomes too much smoke, the fire alarm will go off, and then the police will come. For some reason the panic and smoke detectors are confused. When the fire alarm goes off the fire department should come not the police. They receive the call as a panic and then they want to come in to make sure that everything and everybody is okay.

That's odd. Maybe if you have an alarm for crime the fire department will respond. Lol
