On the ninth wedding anniversary the tradional gift has been to give pottery and the contemporary gift has been to give something made out of leather. Either way you have your bases covered there. Give something that you really like and is a part of you and something they will love enough to either use or display but something that reminds them of you when they see it. Thanks Zelo

My wife and I have some gifts that are memorable even from people that we don't even talk to anymore... one that comes to mind is a cookie jar that was given to us for our anniversary. I used to work for a consulting company called Big Apple Consulting, USA, Inc.... The cookie jar is a big apple. I always remember my days working there when I see that big apple cookie jar! Thanks Zelo

Certain anniversaries have diffent meaning like one is paper 2 is tin or something like that. all the way up to 50 which is golden and 75 is diamond. If you wnated to do something differnt you could find out what this anniversary represents and give him something based on that. I have one coming up in Sept. we will probably do something like go on a short like day cruise or go out to eat at a nice restaurant or soemthing.

If I were in your shoes, I would check what my spouse need or like. I he is into computers or gadgets, buy something in that category. If he loves to eat, take him out to dinner. If you want you could also follow the tradition of giving gifts. According to the list it must be pottery for the 9th year. I got the list from "JustPaperRoses" website. 1st Paper - 2nd Cotton - 3rd Leather - 4th Fruit - 5th Wood - 6th Candy - 7th Wool - 8th Bronze - 9th Pottery - 10th Aluminum - 11th Steel - 12th Silk - 13th Lace - 14th Ivory - 15th Crystal - 25th Silver - 50th Gold But honestly, I doesn't feel right if you will give pottery . My last suggestion is try to think of something he would really like to have. If you can afford it, buy it for your man to make him happy.

Perhaps make him a scrapbook of memories? Find an old book that is hardbound, that you will never read again, and pull out a few pages between each page to make room for pictures and memories that you can paste in. Put pictures of you and him, ticket stubs from movies, etc., in the book with some glue and just make it unique :). I am sure he would like something that you handmade for him, I know I would like something like that, because it takes time, instead of you just putting money down, extra money to keep for yourself is also nice too :P. For your anniversary maybe you can make a really nice dinner for the two of you also. The more you do by yourself, the more personal the gifts are :). Good luck!!!

Im sure that after 9 years, you know him very well. Probably more than anyone else. Buy him something that he has wanted recently or talked about a lot. And if you cant think of anything buy him jewlery, it never fails!
