I bought a new lens this week! It's a 10-20mm ultra wide angle lens! I absolutely love it! It is so much fun to use! It has definitely added a great creative element to my photography. I'm going on vacation in a few days, and I can't wait to use my new lens! I want to get some nice landscape photos of the beaches and the ocean. Attached is a photo I took using my new lens. Do you enjoy wide-angle photography? What types of lenses are on your "must-have" list?

I'm incredibly jealous. I started out with a Rebel XT and the 18-55 kit lens. Money made from shooting allowed me to upgrade. Now I'm carrying around a 40D, 28-135mm IS, 70-200mm f/4L, 18-50mm f/2.8, 28-75mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8, and 430EX.. plus studio lighting and manfrotto monopod and tripod. Two of the main voids in my kit are the super telephoto and an ultra wide angle. I covered the Red Bull Air Race World Series in Detroit, which made me realize how NOT long enough my 70-200 and 75-300 lenses were. I do a lot of concert photography as well, and 18mm is the widest I can get. I can't wait for the day I can walk up to the front and center of a stage, and snap off a single shot that gets the entire band in frame. Plus I do some pro sporting events and really huge concerts, so a wide angle for crowd/stadium/venue shots would be incredible. Keep us posted as to how you enjoy the lens. I'm torn as to which one I'm eventually going to get.. whether it's the Canon 10-22, Sigma 10-22, Tokina 12-24 f/4, an 11-17mm, a peleng 8mm, etc. Hopefully you enjoy your vacation too.

Oh, and the list of other lenses... I want to pick up... *35mm f/2.0 for shooting MMA (the front element is really small -52mm filter ring- so it fits nicely through the fencing; no obstruction) *50-150mm f/2.8 for concerts *150-300mm f/2.8 for sports *50mm f/1.4 for concerts and portraiture *1.4X and 2.0X teleconverters for my L glass

Yah, I had actually decided to pick up a 170-500mm first. I ordered the lens, only to be notified immediately after that it was out of stock! Because I'm going on vacation soon, I decided to go ahead an order the wide angle instead. Hopefully that telephoto will be the next lens I pick up!

I had press access to the Red Bull Air Races, APBA Gold Cup, and this coming weekend I'll have unlimited access to a WHRRI racing event.. so the telephoto would have been AWESOME for those. However, I get more access to concerts and MMA events, and the ultra wide would get a lot more use than the super telephoto, so that's going to be next on the list for me. I'm just trying to figure out which one to get.

Hi, I do love to have a ultra wide angle lens. I haven't been able to hold a wide angle lens, but my friend has a 24mm on his SLR camera which I was able to test, and having a 24mm maybe not really wide but it really showed me what a 12mm or even beyond would be able to do! One of my dream lens is a 12-24mm f4 or is it a f2.8. But anyway, I would love to have a ultra wide angle lens added to my arsenal. The other lens that I want to have is a 70-200mm VR. After being able to complete this 3 lens set, (the other a 24-70mm f2.8 which I already have, but planning to buy a VR one) I feel that I can stick with these for a long long time! I'm excited to own this 3 piece lens set!
