WeLL my daughter doesnt have a fever nor has she been acting up but for the last three days i had noticed she was getting little red bumps, everyone would just tell me a couple of mosquitoes bit her but as the days went by more came out and they got bigger and more red. I took her to her pediatrician and since she has no fever, no sore throat, and nothing bothering her they can not confirm she has chicken pox. Now they have her under observation and they gave me a precription for aciclovir, they confirm to me that she does have a viral infection but not chicken pox.. i just wanted to know if any one has gone through a similar situation and what was their outcome, as a mother i am very worried.

That is a bit weird. Doctors could not pinpoint and just called it as viral infection. Well I just hope that she could recover from it. It really does not have the symptoms of a chicken pox. Because if she has then she must have fever by now. I just hope she can really recover from it as most viral infection does get cured over time. As there are no medicines that can really stop viral infections.

Well viral infections don´t show right away the doctor told me that it dealt with something 2-3weeks ago and that symtoms are barely showing. Well all i can do is have a little patience and wait, thank you for responding

It sounds like a case for Aveeno. I went through something similar with my oldest and we put here through all kinds of tests. It turns out that she was developing hive in reaction to damp cold. The rash would develop under her damp bathing suit. That is really a cute picture of your daughter! I hope all turns out well and that she back to the norm soon. Bless her sweet little heart!

Good day.. I've never seen a case of chicken pox in a 7 month old. Is she been exposed to people who are recovering from chicken pox? because it's the primary of getting infected is thru exposure.

The doctor that i took her to said that it has happened in children who are even in the womb while the mother is pregnant, i truely did not know it can happen to an infant but it can. It has not yet been confirmed that she has chicken pox because she has no fever nor sore throat. She has me very worried because she is now refusing the bottle and to eat.

I also took my 10 month old daughter to the doctor the other day because I was noticing little bumps appearing all over her face and arms. They are not red per say just little bumpy. I was very worried that it might have been a food allergy or something. The DR. confirmed that it is not a food allergy because they would appear differently and that it look like it was from the heat. When he mentioned that it made sense since when I would take her outside more of them would come out and some would even be red like a rash. If your daughter does not have them all over her body its unlikley that it is chicken pox also if she does not see itchy then that is another reason I wouldn't think so but I suppose your pediatrician knows best. Keep us posted and hope your little one gets better soon!

Thank you for sharing your experience that you have had with your daughter. My daughter has had heat bumps before so i do know how they look like. The ones she has now look like big mosquito bites, red and have a hard tip. She has them all throughout her body from her face, ears, all over legs, arms, back, stomach and so on, i am putting all my things together to head back to my home town asap because i am currently out of the country and paranoid. THanks

Are you sure for what they said? Just make sure then ... why you're not goin to another doctor? i think it was measles that your daugther has, make sure it, go to another doctor, don't stickk to one doctor, because sometimes they could be wrong with their examination ... this happen sometimes Hope everything gonna be alright for your babies

hi Adelilzia I can tell you out of my own observation as a patient with shingles, that chickenpox has small blisters, dozens of them with clear fluid in them, and my shingles looked'the same way. the er doctor said they look just like chickenpox except they only go half way around your body,,not cover it like chickenpox does. little red bumps could be some]sortof measles but listen to your doctor as acilovir is for viral infections so the doctor knows what he is talking a bout. I have been on it now for some time. I would trust your doctor and if it does not clear up soon go back to him for further help.If she does break out in clear blisters you will know its chickenpox no other childhood disease looks like that.

WOW it seems a little odd to me. I know my daughter had what they call 5ths disease, but it was a form of the measles and it looked more like a heat rash. I would want to know what kind of viral infection she had if it were me. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Chicken pox looks like blisters, not red bumps. She would have had to have a fever before she got chicken pox. I think from what you have just said that I would go along with the doctor that it is probably just a virus. One of my children would break out in red bumps when he would eat something that didnt' agree with him. Has she eaten anything new lately? Just a thought. I know with a baby it is a worry, but they are resilient and usually pop right back to their normal selves in no time. Do what the docotr suggested and if you don't see a change take her back. Good luck and best wishes!

Thank you for your advice... well my daughters bumps are hard, not sure if it would be defined as a blister or bump all i know is that its abnormal and am hoping that it´s nothing serious.
