This discussion was prompted by something that happened to my sister, but I won't get into it because it makes me mad when I think about it. Someone stole something from her and her husband, and it is a long story. It involves the post office, an anniversary gift, and a long trail of evidence. Do I sound mysterious? No? Good, it's too tiring to go into it. What was the last thing that was stolen from you? Or if you are in a confessing mood, what was the last thing you stole? I'm hoping this last one is a question no one has an answer too. : )

Hi AmbiePam, The last thing I believe that was stolen rather than lost were two rings that my nan had left me and they are irreplacable. I can't prove that they were stolen but they were no longer in my jewellery box suddenly and the woman that used to live upstairs was a shoplifter and her boys litle rogues and they used to break in to many homes as they knew how to do the locks but can't be 100% sure that it was them. I was just so upset and now if I ever come into some money I will buy similar in memory of nan but hey will never be the same as having her rings. Ellie :D

I'm so sorry. That is so sad. I'm hoping that even if you didn't know it, they somehow paid for it. Like what goes around comes around.

I can't remember any time that i stole something... but i know i did it at one point or another... but nothing serious... i think it was my sister's candy bar or a few coins from my mother's room... But i remember being blamed for a lost item like keys and sunglasses... and there was this one time... years ago... my husband and i were not married yet... we were accused of shoplifting a book worth .50 cents... it was and insult and we had to complain to the manager because the security guards acted to stupidly...

I would have been livid if I had been accused of stealing something! I don't blame you for being upset. I remember stealing a package of gum when I was three years old. My mom took me out of the grocery store and I took the gum out of my pocket. She asked me about it, I told her I took it (I don't think I got a really good grasp on that I had to pay for it, but maybe I did). She made me go back in, give it back, and apologize.

I think the last time we had something stolen from us was about 10 years ago when our home was burglarised. We have had a few things come up missing over the years but we are not sure if someone actually stole these things from us. I'm sorry about what happened to your siter. It is not pleasant to be stolen from.

I think the last thing that was stolen from me what in a post office. I sent something to Algeria. And it never arrived. It is very hard to send anything to Algeria except by DHL because everything gets stolen. The post office had to pay for it because had insurance on it..but that did not change anything for me. I made a necklace for my mother-in-law with rare beads that if you were to buy them today, they would cost you are fortune.

LOL I wont answer the last part of your question because I am using my rights to remain silent, but lets just say that it was a long long time ago. The last thing stolen from me would have to be money, and that was taken by someone within my family. It was money that I had managed to save at a time when we did not have hardly any money to save and so when it was stolen that was hard. Finding out who stole it was also hard too.

We had a lawnmower stole from us a couple of months ago. It seems like we get lawnmowers stole pretty regularly. The time before we knew who stole it and he's in prison (for murder) so I thought we were safe. My neighbor had a trailor stolen about the same time so we think it was probably the same person but we'll most likely never get them back.

When my house was burglarized, one of the things stolen was a strand of cultured pearls. I got the money for them from the insurance company, but my mom gave me those pearls, and I had planned on giving them to my niece. Also, every time I can't find something, I wonder if it was stolen too, so I guess my piece of mind and feeling of being secure in my own home has been stolen.

That is sad. It would bother me so much that something from my mother was stolen. I'm glad you got reimbursed, but I can understand the left over feelings of insecurity and violation.

I hate thieves! I've never stolen anything. Honestly! I've never been robbed personally, but my Mom was. She was about 70 at the time. she went to pick up a pizza order in town. She was sitting on the bench right inside the door, waiting for her order. There was another woman sitting on the bench, and about 3 or 4 other women in line. A young man came in and went to the back of the restaurant, towards the bathroom. On his way back, he grabbed my Mom's purse and ran. The girl working at the register jumped over the counter and chased him, yelling "come back here you son of a b1tch." His friend had the car running, waiting on him at the end of the block. What was so bad about the whole thing was that the pizza parlor was right across the street from the police department! They were called and made no effort to find the thieves. They told us if we heard anything, to let them know. lol To the officer's credit, though, he did drive my Mom home to get the second set of car keys; the thief had her keys, too. We had to replace her Social Security card, Medicare Card, drivers license, library card; order new debit cards; cancel a book of checks and put a stop-payment on them; have a locksmith come out and re-key the door locks and deadbolts because the thief had the keys to our house! It was a real pain in the you know where! It seems most younger thieves now target older people. I guess they think they are easy targets, and sadly, most of them are. She's really careful when she goes out now. She pays close attention to everyone around her. Thieves are trash!

So, was the case solved, or will I come across it in the cold case section at some point? lol. The last thing that was stolen from me was my ability to sleep properly!!!! lol. My belly is so huge now that I can't get comfortable at all. Then when bubs is born, it will still take a few months to get any decent sleep. The last thing I stole was my partners heart. I also refuse to give it back, because he has mine too.
