What is the age of retirement in your area?

I believe it's 60 years old for government employees. After that they are no longer qualified for any vacant jobs. Only small difference with your country.

hmm.. Yeah same conditions holds good here. But here it is getting incremented to 60 years in a short while I believe.

I am from KARACHI pakistan, and non of my close friends or my family members work in government.Either ,they work in private companies or are self employed.But I think, it should be somewhere between 55 to 58

here in the States the retirement age is 65years old. which only means that you have to be that old to start getting social security benefits that you've been paying into for you whole working life. there are some exceptions to that age though..not sure what they might be, but i know there are some.
however..in the past oooh 5 to 8 years more and more seniors are having to continue working..or go back to work in order to afford their monthly houseing, food and medical expenses. i know of at least one man who's had to go back to work at the age of 73.

Hey thats really cool. Here in bangalore it is 58 and in mumbai it is 60. hmm..
One country different age of retirement. Thats astonished!!.

In the Philippines, the retirement age is 65 but there are plans in the congress to push it to 70 so long as the individual is physically and mentally fit.
