Do you prefer talking on your cell phone or text messaging?

It depends on where I am because sometimes I do not get good reception in certain areas but text messaging always seems to work no matter where I am.

I have never used text messaging, and I just recently got a cell phone. I only got it because I am on the road a lot and need it for emergencies, but it stays in my car when I go in places. That is one of the reasons I don't like cell phones, people take it in restuarants and movies with them and I think it is rude to have personal conversations on the phone in public when people are trying to enjoy a dinner which they have paid for or watch a movie and someone is talking on the cell like they are at home in private. I think that would be a good instance for someone to text message so they don't disturb the rest of the public with their conversations.

One of my other pet peeves are people who talk on their cell phones in movie theatres and restaurants or other public places. it is very rude.

Greetings to you too and sometimes it depends on where I am. If I am at work and have time, I can only text because reception is bad in the lower level.

i prefer talking on the phone because it is faster, more direct and straight to the point rather than text messaging... it saves a lot of time and money as well...

Very good points again plus sometimes the text messages don't always go through correctly.

I prefer to text ppl instead of having to talk to them on the cell. My son and I use the text all the time.

I use text messaging more myself and just upgraded my plan so that I don't pay as much for text messaging. Haven't gotten my best friend or family to use it yet. LOL

Yes, I agree with you on that. When I am at work, my office is in the lower level and reception is bad on cell phones but text messaging always seems to work.

Text messaging is a lot of fun and sometimes better than talking on the phone, especially if you are somewhere where is noisy and you can't hear very well where you are at. :-) Like a bowling alley. LOL

Text messaging is a lot of fun to me. Of course you have to be careful with whatever plan you are on because it could cost a lot if you text message a lot. Most of my talk on the phone is later at night or on the weekends.

Talking is more direct and convenient and it is nice hearing the other persons voice, especially if it is your girlfriend or wife or family member. :-) My best friend is not very good at text messaging either.

I'm way too slow at texting. Is there a device to speed up texting or a place to learn the shortcuts?

I personally thing they need to do away with cell phones they may be convient but I really wouldn't want to bury one of my kids because they got cancer from the use of a cell phone.
