Do you have reservations? Do you reveal every secret to your friend? A saying goes, that "best friends are worst enemies" -how does this saying affect you?

I always have reservations. I always hold a little back. That way I protect myself. Other people are unpredictable. The only person I can trust absolutely is myself.

I would not have any reservations. Friendship according to me is built on trust and understanding. A true friend is one who has nothing to conciously hide and has no reservations in revealing his secrets. It is invariably the trust that we do not show in the friends which leads to misunderstandings.

Yes that's right. What if, despite of your openness, you found out that your friend have some reservations in dealing with you?

I used to be very open, to anyone!! Couple of years back, I was travelling through Tibet and after noticing my "openness" my guide "opened" my eyes. He said, "Being open is a great thing but how long do you think your friendship with xyz last? can you guarantee that? " Your friend might keep your every secret of yours if they remain friends, but what if your friendship terminated? He will use your secrets against you" he added Not that I have loads of secrets,But the conversation with my guide was a real eye opener. I do still share a lot of information with my friends but I am very careful

It's saying that there's end to everything and nothing is permanent. Your friend today might be your worst enemy tomorrow.
