I have to laugh with my aunt..I emailed her 2 years ago and I just got her reply today! LOL! She lives in Australia now with her Husband and 2 kids. The time I sent her a message, I was asked by Grandma since she was very sick and she is hoping to talk to her since it's been 15 years already she is not visiting the Family in the Philippines! When Grandpa died, she wasn't there! In her email, she just said, regards to my mum! LOL! I know my grandma miss her so much but she seems to be passive! I do know! Do you have any relatives whom you have not seen for a long period of time? how long?

Hi che. I wonder why did it take that long for your Grandma to reply? LOL. Seriously, I have relatives from my mother side who lives in Davao. I haven't seen them for 10 years now. We haven't got the chance too to go there for my Grandma's wake 6 years ago. We still communicate through SMS but it will just happen once in a blue moon. LOL. They keep on changing their numbers.. Hopefully next year, we will have the chance to see each other, maybe when my husband returns home from Canada. Happy postings! HUGZ!

Hi dhangski, That's cool..It's always wonderful to meet all our relatives! when are you going to follow your hubby in Canada? Anyway, It was my aunt who did it and I do know, I emailed and asked her again, but maybe I have to wait for another 2 years! LOL! I just told her to call my Grandma through my Mom's phone so I will not deal with her again! LOL!

I am glad that you finally heard from her. I have a sister that I have not seen for almost 17 years now. We live about 60 miles from one another right now. She chooses not to be part part of the family or have anything to do with any of us. My mom has not seen her for 17 years also, but they had a falling out years ago and huist have not made ammends with one another. they choose not to do so.

Hi stephcjh, I'm sorry about that..I am sure you Mom is sad about that situation and wish someday she will realized that no one will ever love us unconditionally as our Family do! Maybe they are waiting for each other to approach and talk about it!

Oh my! That is a long time to wait for a reply to an email. Maybe she is going through troubles in her own life with her family that prevents her from being close to your family.

yeah it sounds like kind of a funny experience especially since it took your aunt two years to reply back to an email, and I am sorry to hear that your Grandmother is sick and I hope she gets better, there are a lot of members of my family both both my moms side and my dads side that I do not ever see,for example I have not seen my moms real dad in years, because he was a jerk, and we stopped going to see him,the last I heard from him,was he sent me a check as a graduation present, and that was back in 2004, and before that I think the last time we had visited him had been like three years,my uncle keeps in touch with him,so my mom finds out how her dad is doing through him, even though my uncle is kind of crazy if you ask me.

Wow! A reply that took 2 years in making! LOL Your Aunt must have really thought hard in composing the e-mail, hehe... Maybe she is not really into e-mails and internet, or she's just busy browsing other sites that she forgot to check her e-mail. Fortunately for me, my sister do check her e-mail regularly.

We do not respond right away when my in-laws email us either. But it doesn't take us 2 years to respond LOL. Sometimes it takes us weeks or a month to reply. That is because they are from France and they speak french and my french is bad, so I can't write to them in french so I have to wait till my husband is available to translate what I want to say. My spouse is often busy and doesn't have time to keep in touch much. If I knew how to speak french or if my in-laws and I spoke the same language, then I could keep in touch with them often.

Well, i have relative that i have never seen at all... and they are the once who live in the province... my sister and her family who i have not seen for four years visited us last month... I wonder why your aunt seem unaffected by your Grandfather's passing?... did they have a sort of misunderstanding when she left... or is she being controlled by her husband... there are a lot of reasons that we can speculate... but i think the best way to know is for you to start communicating with her a lot often... that might shed light in the mystery...

Hi aseretdd, No misunderstanding really between her and the rest of the family..And I don't think so she is being controlled since My Mother said her husband is a very good person, My Father also confirmed that! I just don't understand with my aunt..Mom said, she is not like that when she was younger..I do know if it's because of her age! I am trying to talk to her so I can also relay to my family! Thanks for dropping!

I have some aunts that I haven't seen in years and I have some cousins and some uncles too, that I haven't seen in years. But my immediate family is very close and we see each other all of the time, well we did till I moved away from them all 4 months ago. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters and my mom and all my nephews and nieces and now some of my nieces have babies and I see them too quite often. We are a very close knit family as there were so many of us kids, when we were younger, and we grew up close and dependant on each other, against our abusive drunk father. But when it comes to my mom's brother and sisters and there kids, or my father's brother and sisters and their kids, well all the kids of theirs are all grown and have families of their own, I have not seen any of them in so many years I don't even know if I would recognize any of them.

Hi posham, yea, it's okay if not too close, a very valid reason for not communicating regularly! I have also a cousins whom I am not talking with but when we meet we are very close! We just don't take time to txt or call with each other!
