How long do you let your finger nails grow?

My fiance recently wrote a discussion about fixing nail clippers,and it got me to thinking about finger nails,so I decided to pose a question to all the mylotters out there in mylotland,how long do you let your finger nails grow before cutting them?Is there such a thing as too long when it comes to finger nails?Men,how do you feel about women with long finger nails?Women,how do you feel about men with long finger nails?If you have children or plan on having children how long will you let there finger nails grow before cutting them?I myself usually let my finger nails grow for a while before cutting them especially since they seem to grow at a rapid rate which kind of sucks, and I do believe there is a too long when it comes to finger nails,because if they get to long,they can cut you or someone else,and they can break which could hurt if they get hung on something,when it comes to women I do not care how long their finger nails are,and my fiance always keeps a couple of hers long so she can open my dip can(which is tobacco,not potato chip dip)for me whenever I get a new can,when me and my fiance have children I am sure we will not let their finger nails get too awfully long before we cut them,so that way they do not cut themselves or someone else,I will appreciate all responses I get,and just like with all my other discussions that I post on this fine community,I will appreciate all mylotters who will approach this discussion in a serious matter,and keep that in mind when they are responding,and I promise to read all responses and comment on them,which will be determined by how lengthy the response is,and how much quality it has in it, have a great day.

I like sort of long nails. Unfortunately, my nails never really grow very strong and they tend to break before I get them as long as I'd like. I also have the horrible habit of biting my nails (sometimes) so that keeps them short, too.
I think there is a such thing as too long. Have you ever seen the pictures of the people who hold the Guiness World record for longest nails? They are soooo long and they curve all up and are really gross looking. So yeah, to me nails that are like three feet long are too long, lol. But as long as the nails are extremely long and just a bit longer than the finger, I think it's cool. I like the common length of when you go and get acrylic nails done.

I can understand that you like sort of long nails,and yeah I know when nails grow they do not usually grow very strong and have a bad habit of breaking,and I know people who like to bite their nails,which does tend to keep them short,and I have never seen the pictures of the people who hold the world record for longest nails, but I bet they are gross looking,and I agree nails that are three feet long would be too long,thanks for responding,have a great day,good luck in you life,and Happy Posting.

Yeah I consider myself very lucky since I have not seen the pictures and do not plan on seeing them lol,and I am glad that you do not bite them as much as you used to,and I am sure a lot of people bite them on occasion,thanks for responding,have a great day,good luck in your life,and Happy Posting.

The longest nails are really gross, so you're probably lucky you haven't seen the pictures lol.
The biting of nails definitely is bad if you are trying to grow them out...I really don't bite them as much as I used to. I've kind of been able to quit doing that for the most part, but still on occasion.

I don't like having long finger nails as mine keep splitting and they're really soft so they bend backwards too easily. 
I've given up trying to grown them now and just keep them really short. Also because I've never had long finger nails I've not learnt to do any tasks with them, so they get in the way all the time especially typing. I don't know how typists with long finger nails do it.
If they are too long on male or female I think they look really horrible but that's just me. I'd rather see really well kept short nails.

I can understand not liking long finger nails because they can split easily,and bend backwards which can cause a lot of pain,and that is cool that you have given up on growing them,and instead keep them really short,and yeah I can understand that never having long fingers,means you never learned to do things with them,so they do get in the way when typing or doing other things,and yeah it is amazing how good people with long finger nails can type,and I understand why you think that men or women with too long of finger nails look horrible,and I do not blame you for wanting to see well kept short finger nails,thanks for responding,have a great day,good luck in your life ,and Happy Posting my friend.
