Yes, I agree with that. There are some situations in your life which you are both happy and sad. For example when you lose something but someone else you like (close friend, family..) earn it so you are sad but happy for him. I wish we will all be more happy than sad. Have a wonderful day!

Hello friend, feeling happy or sad is a mental activity. In normal situation, mind have the capcity to receive, analyse and experience only one information at one time. As a a result, a person can either feel happy or sad, depending on the type of information received by his/her mind,at the particular moment. However, there are few ascetics and spiritual persons whose mind is so much controlled and restrained that, they remain neutral and passive to all kind of situations-happy or sorrowful. Happy or sad events/information do not make any difference to them.

Do human-beings have mixed feelings, I think so, for the reason that our feelings are always influenced by the surroundings. what you see, what you hear and what you touch determines what you feel. No matter in a short or in a long-term of lifetime, there are always a experience with happiness and sorrow. First, there can be both happiness and sorrow at a very short time. When the athletes who won the gold medal for his nation was standing at the stage, he might have a mixed feeling of at least happinedd and sorrow. These two or more feelings are not distributed averagely. Obviously, happiness is in the leading place for the reason that he was standing at the top of the world with great honor and golory. Although his mind may be almost filled with exciting emotions, it is obvious that mnay of them cried. If you ask me the reason, I can guess some. They spend too much time on training and have no time to company with their parents and their lover. They may suffer tremendous pressure in mind and physical injury. Finally they survived from all the sufferings, they felt that it is a long and difficult journey. Secondly, to have a lool at the long term of life, it is absoultely a combination of happiness and sorrow. just like when we are all preparing for the college extrance examination. The huge amount of homeworks made our life a miserable one. However, if we can imagine the excited moment we are admitted by a famous university. The tasks in front of us will not be that bored. And on the raod to love we may feel happy when a pretty girl smiles at me but feels sad after we know she has already had a boyfriend. The link point between the two incidents are a combination of happiness and sorrow. In sum, I think each second in life is combiantion of happiness and sorrow.
