I have a little one who is almost 2 and we want to go camping in a couple of weeks. Has anyone had any experience with this before and what should I do that is just for him so that he is comfortable??

I was that kid who went camping at that age. It can be tons of fun for him. Be sure to bring both summer & late fall/early winter clothing (depending on where you are going as it can get chilly in the mountains at nite if that is where you are camping). Like the other person said, toys to keep occupied. Definitely keep an eye on him (like you don't now LOL).

Bring some outside toys that are new to him, and also be sure to bring a favorite blanket or stuffed toy for bed time. It might help if you could do a practice "camp out" in the living room before you go. Set up the tent indoors and sleep inside in your sleeping bags. It might help him feel more comfortable when it's the real thing.
