A firm in Guernsey has started to make affordable cardboard coffins. Not only are they very economical and also environmentally friendly, you can choose your own theme for your coffin. You can have it painted in football colours, with a golfing theme,a fashion theme..in fact you ask and they will customise it for you!!!..so just for fun, nothing gloomy what theme would you choose???

Unless my conversion table is wrong, that's not much less than the traditional wood, etc. If I'm going to become biodegradable in a big hurry (cardboard goes quickly), I want it to be really cheap!

I want to be be cremated Ruby and have always liked the idea of being pushed into the fiery furnace in something cardboard. I think that it would have to be decorated with photographs of my favourite places. Hanging around those places in my spectral form will five me great satisfaction.

I would love to Abby!!but first of all I would need to visit the library and get the book!!.its by Lewis Carroll im sure, but I havent read it since I was a child,so I would need to brush up a little, but I do have a hand mirror..that could be the `looking glass`..what do you think?

Too bad coffins generally go into cement vaults so that really it doesn't matter what they are made of, the entire burial process really isn't very economically friendly. I think it is cool to have customizable coffins, even though I really don't want to be buried. I think that mine would be a pop tart. That would be fun.

I suppose the concept of the cardboard coffin is at least a step in the right direction, even if at the end of the day the whole business couldnt be deemed as very environmentally friendly, its a good thought..and lol someone will surely make a bob or two from it.

That sounds interesting! I really would not know what to choose, I guess I could have a Garfield the cat one, I really love that cat and so that would be quite fitting for me I guess! Not sure I like the idea of laying in cardboard though, mind you saying that I have no intentions of being buried so it matters not really what I am put in!

Im sure that they would do you a Garfield Rose!!..cardboard appeals to me greatly, not corrugated though,Id like one made from that softer carboard, but lol ive enough padding of my own!!

Isnt that sort of tempting fate a bit to talk about the kind of coffin that you would want, hey im realtively young lol and theres no way im picking my box out now or in the near future lol theres forward planning, but im not going that forward.
