Do you still use the words "God," "Jesus," or any other diety even after ...

....turning atheist? I can't exactly call myself atheist. I haven't rejected God yet. I still believe that a "higher power" exists, and I am in the stage of asking questions and finding out things for myself. But, I have most definitely rejected Christianity. I no longer believe that Jesus is the only begotten son of God who died for my sins. He might have been the leader of a Jewish cult, but then there just isn't enough evidence about him. We will never know the real Jesus, if he existed. However, that is not my point. Even after rejecting Christianity, I still use his name. To express my emotions, I do say, "Oh, Jesus!" And what about you? Do you still say "Oh, God" or "God alone knows" even after turning atheist? Does this habit annoy you? Are you trying to get rid of it? I must say I am curious. I am not trying to get rid of my habit, but I am amused at how my brain has accepted certain things and refuses to let go. Cheers and happy mylotting

Yup, I still use "God" pretty liberally. But when I say "God", I don't mean e.g. Jesus or even any known deity. I just mean it more like "Creator". And even so, by "Creator", I don't mean he created us though I give it a 50% probability. If he created us, I can accept this. If he didn't but come to "rule" us as a higher power, I can accept this too. If he and us came into being together, I can accept too. Whichever, if there is a higher power, who created this higher power? It is a chicken and egg conundrum that will easily fire up an infinite loop of who came before. Don't think further... you might go crazy!

Oh God! I used to use the following: God! Oh God! Oh My God! God knows Allah! Masha Allah! (as a wonder) Insha Allah. (if God's will) Allahu Aa'lam (God knows)

Jesus, pm! You're really going to town with this Christianity thing aren't you? God only knows when you're going to get your fill of it! And God, I hope I'm not annoying you! I think we already discussed this between us, but I didn't like seeing your discussion sitting here with no responses because I love you! Hehehe.

PS: I'm not an atheist either. I don't 'deny the existence' of a supreme being, I believe we are the physical manifestation of that supreme being.

LOL... Am I going to town? It sure intrigues me, and yes, one day, I will get my fill of it. But it is not just Christianity. I am getting interested in many more things. Hehehe... I love you too. I have loads of discussions with no responses, but this is the first time someone has shown such kindness. Cheers and thanks for the response
