This Is Hysterically Funny~Money Is Flying At Me Now

I must be on a real positive roll or something as far as money is concerned. As many of my friends know, I finally got that IRS check business settled and have money to spend on some vital necessities. But now it's almost as if money is flying at me...LOL To be honest, I really wasn't in the mood to go out today, but I wanted to get ink cartridges for my printer and a much needed new window fan since mine died sometime ago...so I moved my buns out of my apt. and got both things at my local Walgreens...On the way home I decided to stop by this produce store to get some more cherries...most of the fruit produce like the cherries are on outside wooden stalls of this supermarket. Okay, pick out my cherries, pay for them and leave the store....As I'm walking along further down the block where more fruit stalls are my eyes came upon something stuck on the ground and tucked a bit under this one stall....Before anyone else could see it I swooped down, grabbed it and walked along my merry way---IT WAS A $20.00 BILL!!! I couldn't believe it! Okay to turn this into a discussion...has anyone else found money of significance just lying on the floor of a store or on the street? And did it happen when ironically, you didn't even feel like going out that day?

Of all places to find a 20.00 bill for me one time was in our front yard. It was just laying in the grass. I ask my son when he got up that morning if he was missing any money since he was the last one from our house that was out that night. He checked and said he wasn't missing any and ask why and when I told him of course then he said oh yes, I am missing a 20. hahahaha I hope your good luck continues.

I'm sometimes lucky in finding coins too...like a dime or quarter. And usually it comes in handy if I'm in a store and paying for something and notice that if it hadn't been for that extra change I find, I would have been short in paying my bill.

When I was younger - much younger - I was walking into my credit union and saw a $100 bill on the ground. I turned it in at teller's desk and they said that unless someone called to complain that they had been shorted $100 they'd put it in my account. No one ever called about it.

I know, I would have called about it, thinking the teller gave me the wrong amount of money back.

With my luck, I'm lucky to find a penny, dime, or quarter to be laying here or there. lol! Had friends that were lucky at one point or another, that found larger amounts laying on the ground, which they kept after no owner could be found for it. Not me though...lol! Glad to hear that your IRS stuff has finally worked itself out in your favor. Was beginning to wonder if that would get solved.

Yep, that would be me. We are still trying to figure things out on that, since we don't want nothing coming back and biting us badly in the future. But it all still has us scratching our heads over it all. Still very much got the odd going on's within the house as well too. Hope it all doesn't drive me bonkers..lol!

I've been meaning to respond to your one discussion you have cause it seems you've been having an odd, unexplainable streak of luck with money lately, especially about bills being paid right?

hi pyewacket yes a numer of years back when my kids were little we had some part trouble with our international harvestor pickup. we took what money we had to the parts store and found out it would cost us for the parts 200 dollars and we were shy a hundred. well we were both feeling pretty down, when we went out to our pickup and I said a short prayer.couldnt hurt, I thought. as I went to get in on the passenger side I stumbled and looked down my foot was on something so moved myfoot and there beneath my foot were two one hundred dollar bills. there was no one but us in that lot so we kept the money and bought the parts and our friendly next door neighor put them in for us and never c harged us but fifty dollars. our pickup was up and running well then.I felt it was an answer to a prayer.

Yes. About 5 months ago, my wife and I found a $20 in the aisleway of our local store. I took it over to the customer service booth. I'm sure whoever dropped it will be looking for it.

The street (or parking lot) is fair game. When I was 9, I found a change purse with money in it ($14.50 - a lot for a 9-year old). I took it to the police department lost and found. They told me if no one claimed it in 14 days, it was mine. Nobody claimed it.

Most days I do not even feel like going out.No choice, I go. I did have a $20 bill fly across Wal Mart to me one time. I kept that, because there was no way to trace it, no one nearby, etc. On the other hand we were on a shopping trip out of town and in one trip found a payroll check, and a personal check in Wal Mart. We turned one over to the nearby bank and left the other with Wal Mart, who said they would call the owner.

Should have made it clear, that $20 was blowing around the Wal Mart Parking lot, not inside. Inside, I would turn it in to the service desk.

Wow--you literally did have money blowing your way. Just wondering though. Like when people DO find money in a store and they turn it in, wonder if the person in the customer service area pockets it themself

I sometimes wonder what happens to money that is turned it..a lot of posters here say that if they find money they go to the customer service center and turn the money in...mmmm...how are we to know though, if the person in the customer service center doesn't pocket it themself???

There was a reason that you went out and went exactly to that specific store lol! I never find money! One time I was walking on my street and I saw 2 dollars on the ground. That's all. My boyfriend on the other hand finds money all the time. He found $50. Another time he found $100. Why can't I be that lucky? You must be so happy. It's a great feeling for you, but not so good for whoever lost it. I really believe that you were meant to find it. You pushed yourself to go out and there it was. Enjoy the money!

Yes, I guess I was at the right place at the right time. Wow your boyfriend must be a money magnet or something...LOL. This actually kind of makes up for things though..one time I lost a $20 bill...the moment I realized it was missing I went looking all around for it but didn't find it...so maybe now I'm being paid back somehow????

no I never found money lying around, but when I first moved into this place, the old tenants left a bank of pennies, we we counted them there was over 50.00. I once found a purse once in a movie theater but I gave it to the desk clerk.

It was a hot summer day and I did not like to wake up early to go to work in a hotel as a waiter. Being a student and in need of money I had to do odd jobs to sustain my studies. As soon as I arrived at the bus stop I noticed around $100.00 notes lying on the floor. I could not believe me eyes. Its theonly occassion where I found money on the street.

Yep. I've found change too many times to count and a couple times I've found $5.00 or $10.00. Sometimes, I think if you just walk along and look down all day you can probably earn a living that way. It might even pay better than some jobs. LOL

The "family" story goes is that my great-grandmother always looked down when she walked outside and sure enough she always found money....You know when you think of it, if one was to pick up every single penny one found on the street I'd bet sooner or later you'd have a small fortune....people seem to pass them by though...even me.

I've found dollar bills while out walking before. My partner and I were at my old school's library doing some research and decided to walk behind the main buildings to head back to our dorm room. As we rounded the corner I saw what I thought was a dollar on the ground. So, naturally I approached it and picked it up. I found $3. It wasn't much but it was something. I do remember when I was a kid finding a $10 bill on the ground while going into the grocery store with my mom. She didn't want me to take it because she thought someone may have gone looking for it but I did end up picking it up anyway.

Hello Doll In 1976 I found a cigg pack while walking near the road in the dessert. Mindlessly I oped the flip top and pulled the foil out and with it tightly folded bills fell to the ground. I unfolded 3 one hundred dollar bills. I took it to the nearest police station and turned it in. I couldn't imaging loosing that much money. A month later I got a call from the PD telling me to come sign papers and the $300 was mine. xoxoxoxoxoo

Wow..holy moly..LOL. Now what were the chances first of all of finding a cig pack on a road in the desert anyway, and I'm taking it was a fairly isolated area, right...and great that the money eventually became yours to keep!
