Do You Use Shaving Cream/Gel When You Shave?

I am just wondering if you are using just plain water, water and soap or shaving cream when shaving your beard, mustache or legs and armpit (for women)? Some say that it makes the life of the razor blade longer if you use shaving cream. In my case, id like to shave my mustache with just the razor only. Let me know your thoughts.

I always shave in the shower and just use soap and water (usually) every once in a while i will use shaving cream that my mom has in the shower though but i like using soap and water as its just easier for me and when i use shaving cream i feel like it takes longer to shave!

Well, as for me...i used shaving cream everytime I shave my legs coz it helps moisturize my legs and it makes my leg smooth.

Well as I'm a woman when I shave my armpits I just use soap and water same with my legs but sometimes I use a bath powder that is better I think-littleowl

bar of soap - photo of bar of soap with suds
Hi my friend, I like to use Dove soap for shaving my legs and underarms. It has a cream base so makes things smooth and soft. I've tried shaving creams before and they are great too, but I guess I'm just lazy and it's just as easy to grab the soap bar and use it. Happy MyLotting, Char

I used to use shaving cream to shave my legs, but then I started using hair conditioner because it leaves it softer! It's actually conditioner that doesn't really work well on my hair (leaves it feeling stringy), but I bought such a big bottle that I started using it for my legs and I love how it feels afterwards. Also, I have those Intuition razors that I sometimes use which don't require shaving cream or anything.

I use shaving cream on my legs cause it helps with no nicks and cuts and makes for a smoother shave also. Of course my daughter uses it also. So I end up buying it quite often.

My husband just uses that if it's available or someone gives it to him but we don't buy shaving cream on purpose. He would just wet his face or sometimes, he would lather it with a bath soap before shaving it. Sometimes, he borrows my facial foam. I won't mind if he uses all of it as long as he stays neat shaven.

I like to use shaving cream for it has moisterizers in it and makes my legs easier to shave and their smooth feeling after not all red and irratated like if I were to use just soap and water.

It depends (I find that I say 'it depends' a lot these days..). I use three different things, but it depends on what I am doing. If I already have the body wash on my hands, I will just use that. If I decide to shave before I do anything else, I usually use the bar of soap. Sometimes, if I remember that we even have shaving cream, I will use that, but I feel like it takes me longer to shave when I use shaving cream. I think out of all three, I prefer the bar of soap when shaving my legs.
