Well I ordered my ticket for The Dark Knight. Had the confirmation numer etc and went to the theatre for the 7 p.m. show that the ticket was for. As I pulled into the parking lot it was empty for the most part. Seems there was a major power outage and therefore the theatre was closed. After a lot of banging on the doors and a few calls unanswered the manager finally came to the door. I had a ticket for today only and it was closed. They gave me a free pass for any movie at anytime in the future. Have you ever gone to the movies and it was closed due to a power outage? I did go elsewhere to see a different movie. More on that in another discussion. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm glad they compensated you for being closed today. It sure wasn't your fault. I have gone to the movies and it was closed before. It was a holiday though. I wasn't out any money though because I planned to purchase my ticket when I got in there. I'm glad you got to see a different movie though. At least it wasn't a total loss for you.

Yeah I would have been teed off to say the least. Even though I had charged only $3,25 on my VISA. But the free ticket also that I earned online would have been gone as well. They were really nice about it thankfully. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I would be teed off too. I'm glad that it all worked out in your favor in the long run though. I am happy that they were nice to you too. they better be because you are a very nice person. It is hard to find kindness in alot of people these days. I am glad to say that you are though.

We are waiting until it comes out on the Dvd and getting it then. We do have a free pass for a birthday movie, but my husband's birthday is not until October so it will not be available then. Rats! There was no power outage here, and I do know that there was some a while ago, but we were not going to see a move anyway.

I do not know if the DVD release will be in 3-d though. It would lose a lot if it isn't. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It hasn't happened to me, but something similar did happen to my sister. They were about halfway though the movie and the fire alarm went off. They had to evacuate the movies and found out it was a hoax. They wouldn't let everyone back in to finish watching the movie though because they had to keep on schedule for the next showing. They gave her a free pass, but she didn't see the end of the movie until it came out on HBO.

Grandpa! My answer is nops .... because here we have much electric power loadshedding for last year. Many of the inhabitants of our locality have their own power house generator lol. Yes, I used to go for theater but it is most of the times drama being staged live.

Wow!! This would be frustrating for sure. Especially with a movie like this. I do not blame you for feeling Frustrated for sure. Hope you can go see this movie, and let us all know what you thought. I know I want to see it, but will probably wait until it comes to DVD to do so.

hi Grandpa Bor too bad about the Dark Night maybe you can see it another time lol. I remember one time we were in Santa Ana at an old theater that was either going to be remodeled or torn down, because we wanted to see that particular movie. okay we get our tickets, and we start to find a seat, and I suggested to my huband that we go up in the balcony. He vetoed that as he thought they did not look too safe.I thought he was being an old fuddy duddy. turns out I was wrong. The movie had just started and all of a sudden there was aloud screeching noise followed by screams and people around behind us moving out of' their seats. that whole balcony had given way but thankfully there were only ten people who had gone up there. All ten were injured but most were not life threating, mostly bruises, broken bones and one or two with heart problems. we did not getour ticket badk as they closed that theater down com;pletely after that.

Hi GB! I'm sorry to hear you didn't get to see the movie. I've never been to the movies and it was closed for any reason. There's two cinemas on my island, and they have different movie theaters, and they both have generators.

I am so sorry to hear what happened Grandpa Bob. I am not fond of watching movies in the theater. I prefer watching at home, with the kids and my honey. Movie theater is a bit expensive here and if we all go out for the movie, it will mean a lot of money for me. Thanks Grandpa and better luck next. KEEP SMILING = NEIL

Sorry to say grandpa but i haven;t encountered this situation. Because I am watching the cinema's inside the mall's. And through it, I can watch movies with no interruption. Because all the malls have there backup power.

Never- that stinks. So does that mean you can go watch The Dark night anytime? I hear they are selling out everywhere unless you get an advanced ticket. I don't buy too many advanced tickets- but I have never been to the movies and had it be closed.

That is the first time that I have heard of the movie theatre having a power outage. At least they did give you a free movie pass. Now if you didn't get that pass and you came back the next day. They would have not honored that pass that you had for that day they were closed cause of the outage. Good thing that you kept banging on the door til you got an answer. Have a good one.

I am glad they gave you a pass to see another movie another day but I am sorry you didn't get to see the movie that you went to see in the first place. I have never went to a movie and had it not shown that would not be nice.

Oh, what a shame! I'd be pretty upset if this happened, as I only go to the movies about once a year. My Mum and I look forward to our yearly outing, and choose our movie carefully - so it would be pretty disappointing if we showed up and there was a power cut! A pity you missed The Dark Knight, too - from all accounts, it was a brilliant movie!

Hi webeishere, Many years ago I had two tickets for me and my friend to see Cliff Richard at Bromley Theatre and we got there we coouln't believe our eyes, it was burnt down, cause by electrical fault, so we complained to the agency that we bought the tickes from and they told us that the show was been shown in London U.K. We got the tickets so we went that week,I just was so surprised we were sitting amongs all the top tv ans films stars it was the first showing just for the celebraty and we were there. How about that for a bit of luck rubbing shoulder with the stars at the interval. Tamara
