Lately my face and hair seem to feel so dry. Before my showers, I will usually wash my face with Olay Moisture Rich Cream Cleanser for normal to dry skin. This is like the tenth face wash I have tried this year by the way. None of them seem to do the trick. Also, after my shower I will cream my face with Curel Ultra Healing Intense Moisture Lotion for Extra Dry Skin, which is suppose to last up to 24 hours. Yet, my face still feels dry to the touch. At least to me it does anyway... As for my hair, I am italian and I have the type of hair that's curly, frizzy and dry. I have tried several shampoos and conditioners (I don't use Pantene because of the major wax build up it causes), such as sun silk and now I'm using Infusium 23 shampoo and conditioner. Some days it will feel pretty silky and some days it will feel extremely dry. Could it be the weather as well? Plus, I have not been eating good, skipping meals here and there. Can that effect things? In any case, I would really appreciate any advice that you all have to give because I just don't know what to do anymore. Keep in mind that I don't want to have to pay and arm and a leg to get this all straightened out. I'm looking for an inexpensive answer to my problem if possible...

Good Evening MrsFairWells! I sent this info to another of our friends on MyLot. I know this sounds crazy but it works...for your hair..order Chaz Dean's Wen Haircare line. It is an emulsion of herbs and other good stuff you put on after rinsing your hair for a minute or two at the begining of your shower. Apply it and then use the comb that comes with the kit to distribute it evenly and proceed with the rest of your shower. At the end of your shower, you rinse your hair again and then add another pump of product to your hair as a leave in conditioner. It is only $30 a month and worth every penny. I have spent a fortune trying hair and skin products too! For your skin..go to HSN.com and pull up "Signiture A club" products.Look for the argan oil head to toe beauty kit. I bought this kit using the 3 payment option making my payments $40 for the first, and $33.11 for the next two. I repeat...I have spent alot of money on products....the two I mentioned are the best! The argan oil scared me at first because I have oily skin, but to my delight I look years younger....I will be 45 in the next 2 weeks but you'd never know by looking at me. Also take good care of yourself as the others have mentioned! You'll be fabulous in no time!!

I never use soap or a face wash on my face. I ONLY use Ponds Cold Cream with Cucumber to remove make-up. Works GREAT. Then rinse with warm water. As far as a hair and skin treatment. I went to Cosmetology school and we encouraged our clients to use a Oil conditioner once every two weeks or maybe once a month. You can get a one time treatment at your Beauty Supply Store. They are very good. I use them as I dye my hair and it does dry out. Or I use a leave in conditioner....Ion. It is a spray. Use it after you wash your hair. There is NO sticky or gunky feeling. Don't over use, a little is all you need. It works!!! Your skin...bath oils float on top of the water. I was told by a doctor to use ONLY Dove on my skin. They have many different kinds of body wash and that is what I use. I have VERY dry skin. I have three grown kids who are mixed with Mexican and get 'ash' as they call it on their skin. They use Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion. None of these are costly. And yes your diet and the weather play a large part of your skin and hair! Best of luck, Janet

I agree with Dove soap. Well, actually dermatologists would tell you that the use of soaps with scent could cause damage to your skin because anything with scent in it would create a reaction to your skin. So try not to use scented soaps.

Actually it WAS my Dermotologyst/Oncologist who told me only Dove.... I have skin Cancer and had one major surgery on my right hand (thumb) with a skin graft. It was very bad. Stage 4! This was in 2005. So I am not FREE yet! Any way, I just use the Dove Body Wash. Thanks, Janet

Firstly, drinking lots of fluids is a must and so with proper diet and rest. Since you are Italian, I am pretty sure you have olive oil in your kitchen cupboard so you do not have to spend more money. The versatility of olive oil extends beyond the kitchen. It will moisturize both your hair and face.If you can endure it, apply and massage olive oil onto your hair and leave it overnight.(you might want to protect your pillow case) Also, moisturize your face with a little amount of olive oil before you sleep. Do not wash your face too much as this will strip off natural oils and make it very dry. Another very versatile but inexpensive beauty aid is avocado or guacamole. After eating the fruit, use the rind and rub it on your face (let dry like a mask) and on your body if you like. Do the same thing on your hair.Leave it for some time.It is quite messy but as soon as you wash you will notice the difference.Avocado is rich in oils.Unsurprisingly, you will find both olive oil and avocado as ingredients in a myriad of beauty products.Good Luck!

A healthy dose of antioxidants would work wonders too.I've been taking grapeseed supplement for the past 4 years. It's the only supplement I'm taking but it's 20x more potent than your average Vit.C, 50x more potent than Vit.E (w/c is a must for beautiful skin)and has beta-carotene. :)

Well, for my I use Noxemial facial cream, it helps to remove make up and also works well for sunburns. I love it. I use Dove's hair shampoos, but also occassionally I use the mayonaize every once a month. I am also plan to strip hair color and detox entire body for 3 mos. Water is helpeful to keep moisture and health. YOu can get liquid minerals at Sam's club or Walmart if you can find it. Also maybe you think about to a detox of yourself and your husband. It helps to keep it working if have a buddy.

I tried the Noxema face cream and wash on me and it really dried out my face unfortunately and Dove extremely dries out my hair. I have to be very careful what I use in my hair unfortunately because a lot of products tend to dry it out. I really appreciate your suggestions though. You will have to send me a message a tell me more about this detoxing of the body....

i think you might want to drink more water... if your hair gets to dry and that includes your skin, you just need to have more vitamin e. if that does not do the trick, then you have to have more rest, you might be stressed you just need more rest i guess.

I'm not sure if CETAPHIL liquid soap is available in your country. If it is, try it. This is not something you haven't heard of, but yes, hydrate. Drink lots of water. And moisturize. Clinique's Dramatically Hydrating lotion for the face works wonders. Get regular hair treatments for the hair too. There are a lot of home remedies you can try. Good luck! =)
