Have you read Stephen King's Salems Lot? That is about a vampire who slowly takes a small town, and then there's Lost Boys by Orson Scott Card. Both quite good, and they have both been made into movies. Salem's Lot wasn't a very good movie, but it was later remade as a mini-series starring Rob Lowe and Donald Sutherland, which was a far better depiction of the novel!

I have trouble getting into Stephen Kings novels. His attention to detail has a tendency to bore me. Ill look for the Lost Boys though.

I think Stephen King is one of those authors you either love or you hate. I'm the former, and have most of his books! I didn't mind the second Salem's Lot, but yes, the mini series was definitely the pick. Lost Boys is actually the only one of Card's novels that I have, and I think I grabbed that second hand after I'd seen the movie!

I have read some of his books and was really into his gunslinger series, but then he started to bore me. I hate that because i really want to know how that series ends.

I'm not into the cutsey vampire series, like the Glory St. Claire series, so I can't really recommend any of the lighter stuff, but I would definitely recommend you check out J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I know a coupe of ladies who only read the light, fluffy books that LOVED this series. It's an awesome series that I really couldn't set down. I read the first five books in three days and am itching to get my hands on the sixth in the series. You'll love these characters!

One book that I don't think most people know about is a book by D.N. Simmons called Desires Unleashed: Knights of Darkness. Have you read this? I think it's a great book. It has a great story line and awesome details. It's a easy read and has three or four chronicles to them....I can't remember. I liked Anne Rice's version of Sleeping Beauty, so a friend of mine asked in I like vampires and got me hooked to these novels. If you haven't read it, then find it and try it. I got the first one at the library and then went to the book store and purchased them all. Good luck. There's also a good book called Thirst that I liked. It was a little too dark for me, but a very good read. I almost felt as though I was reading something that was by a real vampire.

I'm glad I can help. I believe that everyone should read as much as they possibly can and whatever they can read and find interesting. Vampires are cool to me because it's fantasy, and it's good to dream. As long as the books aren't about how to hurt someone or themselves then I'm okay with it. Hope you like it!

My favorite is the Lestat series, by Anne Rice. I think the first one is called "The Vampire Lestat", then "Interview With a Vampire" there are more to the series than these, but I am drawing a blank on the order in which they come. They are great reading, and a great cast of characters that you get to know and admire.

How about the twilight series by Stephine Meyer? It has vampires and werewolves in it and focuses a lot of relationship dynamics. Some other suggestions that I've found in various places-although I haven't gotten along to reading them yet would be: Vampire Academy/Frostbite by Richelle Mead The Jaded Hunter by Michelle M Pillow Some serie books by Kresley Cole, Lara Addrian, and Karen Chance might interest you too. If you search for these authors or titles most of the time you can find the first chapter available to read to see if it catches your interests. Hope this helps ^_^
