meditation gives us lot of solace . it wards off tensions. have you tried meditation? what has been your experience? how often do you meditate? is there a fixed moment when you meditate or a daily phenomenon? given a choice what place will you choose for this? does the place matter?

I have never been able to master meditation. Firstly, it's hard to get much time to myself, then, if I do, there are millions of things I should be doing. If I try to meditate, I just end up worrying about how I really should be spending that time. Instead, I go for a long walk. It helps me clear my mind and think better once I've done it.

dear penny i am no yoga or meditation teacher nor a preacher. yes we are all busy with our daily routines and other things. but i am sure if we meditate we are not wasting time. meditation will reorganising and recharging our internal self. if in better shape every thing performs better. after meditation whatever we do sleep, work or whatever i am sure your performance and output will be better. you may try this . all the best.good luck!

Oh, I absolutely agree with you! Meditation is definitely not a waste of time! I only meant that personally I find it hard to sit still and clear my mind. I only wish I could!

hi dear msedge. you must try to sit silently aloof and undisturbed for as long as you can and ward off all the thoughts coming to your mind. treat your mind as if it is all alone in a vcuum some things will still flash there. you just try to think about your purpose of existence. you will soon realise a ot about you ,your near and dear ones and many other things, and you will feel relaxed and fresh with energy!!

Hi! I agree, meditation gives solemnity, freshness of thoughts, and a different view of life which is good. I think that the place for meditation does not matter, depending on the person. For me, I need a quiet place and I need to be alone in order to meditate because I easily get distracted. I experienced going to a retreat with my students. On our last day there, we were all isolated from each other in the woods and had our "alone" time to meditate. It was surreal! All I could hear was the sound of nature. It was so beautiful and peaceful that I want to do it again. Now that you mentioned it, I think I need to meditate more often to relieve my everyday stress. Happy myLotting!

Yes, I have done meditation before! I found it to be very relaxing and stress relieving! I don't mediatate as often as I once did, but when I do it is usually in the evening. The place doesn't really matter as long as it is not noisy or distractive. Happy meditating!!

I agree with you. It does give a lot of solace and relieves the stress. I do it every night for approx 20 min before I go to bed. It helps me get over all the stress and unwanted thoughts. A good sleep follows.

hi dear alokn99 meditating is not only physical but a great stress reliever. after meditation you get a good sleep deep slumber and tend to get up early in the morning fresh to tackle the things of life as fresh as ever.yes dear alokn99 the very purpose of meditation is to wipe out the mind clean of all negative energy and fill it with the positive thoughts and energy!!

yes i have done it.it's a very pleasant, relaxing, and peaceful experience. i try to do it everyday usually in the morning before i leave the house. once i also joined a mass meditation for world peace which was a niceexperience. given a choice, i would choose to do it in a natural setting where it's tranquil like in a forest or at the beach. but i don't live near such places so a quiet room in my own home will do :)

I have just recently started and have not mastered it yet. Finding the time is a problem for me as well. Lying in bed doesn't work cuz I fall asleep easily. LOL. This morning I downloaded a free guided meditation and they said it would take 10 minutes before you were in the right place and should feel peaceful and serene. Everything was going well, thoughts popping in and out, nothing unusual, just things like "how many minutes are left", nothing that troubled me. I was very relaxed and trying not to struggle to find the right place, just allowing it to come to me. Then I heard very clearly "he's found someone else" referring to someone I haven't heard from in awhile, but I wasn't even thinking about him! So that upset me and then the 10 minutes was up. I'm confused now. Not a pleasant experience. I guess I will have to keep trying.
