A new red nosed reindeer!!!

Ok this truly has nothing to do with reindeer and everything to do with my poor nose. I have been dieing of illness for the past week and have now just felt good enough to come and sit at the desk top and try and get some of the discussion answered and taken care of. I still have a major stuffed up nose and am getting sinus headaches from it .. So my question is to you how to you take care of you poor nose when it red and sore and lighted like a christmas tree decoration and you still have to blow it? How do you get over a sinus issue quickly ?

When my nose gets sore through constant blowing I use nivea creme the one that comes in the blue tub if they still do it (not had a cold for a long time) Or failing that vaseline is good too.
I am sorry to hear that you have not been well, have you tried inhaling vicks or methalated crystals. Not sure if you can still buy the crystals but the vicks or olbas oil you can. If you put some in a bowl of steaming hot water and inhale it that will clear your nose and sinuses for a while. Get well soon Xx

Me and vicks don't get a long I have a harder time with vicks being able to breath so I don't get that. but I will look for that nivea cream .. and thanks for the great ideas.

Oh sweets, this explains why you've been so quiet and mia this past week.
Hubs is going away for a few days on Teus., so hopefully you'll feel well enough to call me? I hope so. I've missed you.
As for your nose probs - take a picture and use it on your Christmas cards! ROFL
- sorry, couldn't resist that one either. lol
As for remedies - can't help I'm afraid. Just honk and bear it until it passes.

Thanks hun I'll try to honk and bear it . LOL!! I'll be up to calling you when the hubs goes away on tues.. I haven't been able to get off the phone today between my mom and my gram I'm going insane. My gram is sick and I made homemade soup before I got sick and she got all the leftovers and I also sent stew up to her so that she didn't have to cook but my aunt came over and freaking ate everything I sent her. grrr. not happy with my aunt and then to top it off after she ate everything she left and didn't care if gram had to cook for herself. grrr. so today I sent my other half with a list and sent him up to drop off some microwave meals and bread and eggs and pepsi and something else but god love him he did it and didn't b!tch once.
So now she has food and I told her to lock my aunt out since we changed all the locks so that my aunt couldn't get in unless my gram let her.
Gram ain't letting her in she's pissed off about the eating of all her prepared meals which I'm going to start doing more often.1 person likes this

Yeah I agree with that too. My mom keeps asking why if I have money to buy a house why I would stay here and I think that I have shocked her by saying that I have to stay and take care of gram becuase I told her to face it she isn't moving back here she hates PA to the point where she won't even visit her grandkids, Jay is a drunk and my Uncle between his work and health he can't come in the hour and half it takes for him to drive to johnstown so who does that leave .. Definitely not her kids. It leaves me and you guys are happy about that .. So don't ask me when I'm moving out of johnstown. Becuase the answer is when gram passes.
After I said this my mom started looking at houses in johnstown and has said nothing since then about me moving .. I just think that I had it with everyone of her kids. LOL!!!! They could care less as long as they didn't have to do anything.,

Lotion Kleenex, saline nose sprays and a steamy bathroom.... Those things are the best advice I can give you... a little blistex or carmex to the sore edges of your nose will also sooth it... Poor Bella :))) wish I could mother you some :)))

I used to get a lot of sinus infections. I used that sinus cleanse stuff that you put up your nose. Not a comfy feeling but it worked to relieve that pressure in your nose and head. I have to be really miserable to use it though.

cold packs. some will tell you heat.. but heat makes things swell, thus causing more pressure. take a washcloth and wet it down.. toss it into the freezer for 10 minutes or so.. and then lay it over yer eyes/forehead/nose. it shrinks yer sinuses very quickly.. causeing them to open up, drain, releives the pressure which leads to some respite from the pain. far as yer poor abused reddened nose.. vaseline is a girls best friend in more ways than 1. coat with a thin layer, and itll moisturize as well as protect yer skin from the constant snot fest youve got goin on. hope you feel better ..;hugs;..

hi dear even i have been having a tough time with a bad cold and sinus problems...i do warm water gargles and take steam inhalations on a regular basis..and it goes away faster try some pillow drops like Olesan when you sleep..i can relate very well to the red nosed reindeer..take care dear..get well soooon

oh i am so sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. steam is really good to clear up your stuffy, running nose. so if you go in the bathroom and turn on the shower for a little while and let that steam work it's magic that should help. feel better soon

Oh yeah I really should just sit in the shower for a little bit. Thanks hun now that all the kids are in bed and the SO is at work I think I might have some peace and quiet .. thanks and I hope I feel better soon to .

i never had this sort of a problem so i can't tell you a solution either. but all i can do is wish you good luck and hope you problem gets solved very soon.
