What is your favorite and least favorite kid's television show? My favorite has got to be The Backyardigans. The music is catchy, they're not trying to hard to be educational, they encourage kids to use their imaginations - it's great, entertaining television that I don't mind watching with my kids. We even took them to see the Backyardigans Live! Tour yesterday, and we had a blast. My least favorite has got to be Dora the Explorer. Not that she doesn't have her good points - it's great that my son can count to ten in two languages. But her pattern of speech annoys me to no end. It's like the voice artist thinks she's talking to people that are hard of hearing! I've always heard that it's MUCH better to talk to children as you would talk to anyone - they pick up how to talk much better that way. I'd like to squeeze Dora's little neck until her abnormally large football shaped head pops off! Yes, I have a dark side. For the slightly older crowd, my whole family is just crazy about Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's a great show with interesting characters and a great plot - it's also nice to see a TV show on a children's network that's a bit dark. People die on this show, get badly injured - there's a very bad guy in it. I think that for the most part, kids TV today is TOO censured, TOO sugary sweet. So how about you? What do you love to watch with your children and what makes you want to gouge your eyes out?

My kids are older age 6 and 9. They tend to watch more Cartoon Network these days and there favorite show is Chowder. My 6 year old is a huge fan of Tom and Jerry. I think it is a boy thing because hubby will come up and all of them will sit on the couch watching tom and jerry.
