Has anyone been to Surigao? Specifically Siargao/Dinagat Island? I plan to go there very soon and I'd appreciate some inputs on where to stay, which islands are worth visiting and such.. I am a thrifty traveller but I don't want to stay in dingy places. Also for the boat rental, does anyone have any idea how much it is? There are no threads regarding Siargao Island here, and I hope we can start some discussion about this surfer's paradise soon..

Hi there inutme! I have been to Siargao several times. It's one of my favorite places here in the Philippines. I used to surf (and I still love surfing but I do not surf anymore) and from time to time, my friends and I would go to Siargao. Everytime we go there, we stay at Patrick's. It's one of those places that I can't get enough of. For a cottage good for two, that would be around P1,800++ depending on whether you are on the beach front, if it's aircon or non-aircon, etc. For boat rental, that depends on where you are going, the number of people to ride the boat and more. It also depends whether you rent the boat from the regular folks or if you rent from the resort. I hope you will enjoy your trip to Siargao.
