Do you think you should take your dog for a walk once a day or twice a day or more often or do you not walk your dog at all? Do you think it makes a difference on the type of dog or should all inside dogs be taken out to walk a few times aday.

I don't have a dog, I have a cat but i have just started dog sitting for the next door neighbours dog and we are going for a walk every morning that isn't raining, I am not a morning person at all but i thought i would give him his walk as early as possible so this morning was our first day, and i must say i enjoyed it so much, a cold frosty morning it was but it felt so good....I think for the next six weeks i am going to be fitter than I have been for a long time...

My husband has gone walking the dog now, I need to be the one walking the dog, but I am not at the moment. I have to go do some assignments and clean the kitchen i think walking the dog is a good way to start back in to an execise program

My dog loves to walk. I have four kids at home and can't get any of them to walk the dog. The dog isn't walked as often as she would like to walk. We are guilty of sending her outside by herself to do her do.....this is one of my guilts...I lack time sometimes.

I do not walk my dog at all. We have a good sized yard and Lucy loves to play fetch!!! Not much exercise for me but the dog loves it!!!

We have a large yard but there are lots of other dogs and a big field for the puppies to get lost in, it would be better if the yard was fenced in.

I don't typically need to take my dog out on real walks anymore. I had to when he was a puppy as he was crazily hyperactive but once he settled down he's perfectly happy being walked in the garden to do his business and sniff around a bit 4-5 times a day and then sleep on the sofa. We don't walk on roads any more than perhaps a couple of times a week, more often if the weather is nice but it usually isn't here. The amount of walks heavily depends on the breed of dog however. The little exercise I am giving mine would make for example a border collie crazy as a working breed like that require several hours of exercise per day regardless of weather. Every dog has different needs.

I think the best way to train a dog is by taking them out every three to four hours. I have a little 6 pound dog and in order to prevent it from relieving itself in the house we have her on a very strict regiment.
