A Romanian Immigrant couple in Abbotsford (Canada) Just gave birth to their 18th child. They don't believe in birth control as they just let god guide them. http://www.mytelus.com/ncp_news/article.en.do?pn=home&articleID=2962973

I read the news item an hour ago... and i was quite shock... i want to have many children... but not that many... i could never afford to take care of that number of children... maybe if i am filthy rich... but... oh my... i can't even imagine how the household is... i hope they are coping with all the financial and care needs of those kids...

I agree! This was quite a shock to me as well. I wonder how they do it? It would be interesting to find out. I also wonder what the children think about being part of such a large family.

Hello Monkeyrose, Oh,God! 18 children? That's too many for me. I don't think it is a good idea unless you can really support your children's needs. I've heard people who have many kids but from different mothers. A couple with 18 kids.... I don't think I am interested *smiles*

That woman is only 43.. .She must have been basically pregnant all the time for the past 25 years. Thats a lot of time being pregnant. I give her props for being able to deal with that.

if they can afford to why not but if they cannot i think they need to be practical and control the number of children they have. For me for as long as you can manage your family then fine. But, if you cannot manage already I think you should be practical enough to control it and discipline yourself from getting more.

No way would I ever even consider having 18 children. i only had 2. I can not for the life of me see how ant two people can have this many children and properly care for them or take care of all their needs. There is also a couple here in the United States that lives in Arkansas that are going to be having their 18th child soon too I believe.

lol I totally agree with you. I would never have 18 children. I don't even think I'll have one to begin with. I wonder that too. How do they take care of them? They must get a lot of help from the governement. Abbotsford is a somewhat rural area... perhaps they live on a farm.... all that free labour must help.

I would never have 18 children myself. I have three though I wish I could have more I know that that three is as much as we can handle. My partner has talked about us having another child but I actually can't so. HAHA He came from a big family of 12 children and people always at the house which was on a farm in cape breton. My family was my sister and I with our father in a very quiet apartment in Toronto. I think though if you can handle it and you want it then there isn't a big deal in having that many children.

I just think there are a lot of people in the world and not enough resources. I really don't agree with having that many children. However I do believe in freedoms and that everyone can make their own choices. As long as they can take care of them its their choice.

18 kids.... It sounds too many. I just don't want to see my family is crowded with people.
